As previously mentioned I felt like the Steve interview with Sam Roberts was maybe the most influential and detailed one. Steve really opened up and discussed the details of the set and the project without some of the phony sales pitches we've heard earlier. But it was an hour video. My takeaways: Macho will be very high deco making it hard to release in the main line. Removable soft goods and two hats. The ring should be a good base ring for future releases and you won't need to buy a ring every crowd funding project. If they ever make cages, hell in a cell, elimination chamber it should fit around this ring. The boxes will be well designed with new Gen era graphics and can be displayed in the box. There will also be spaces to place the moc ue figures. The idea of good looking design that doesn't take up too much space was mentioned. All items shown are prototypes and will likely look better as they are further developed and built. Especially the entrance and Doink. Doinks jacket is two fabrics to show the outside and checkered lining. They recently got back the rights for matt borne. The figure is made to reflect his slightly pudgy body shape and expressions. Macho based on timing of the backing window could be one of the most limited mattel wwe releases ever. Diesel was mentioned to be proportionately tall for being a 7 footer and the entrance is designed to accommodate his size. The problem is, unless they release the ring outside of this campaign (in different deco or whatever), whatever they make in the future to accommodate it will be limited to however many people backed this campaign. AND that’s only if the people who backed actually want extra stuff for it.

I just became backer 2,005.
I’ve been really against this all along but Macho sweetened the pot for me, and after deliberating for the last 24 hours I decided I needed a WM X version of Savage.
I have no use for a ring or any interest in UE Diesel, so I’d probably end up selling them.
I feel like a heel that’s just turned babyface!

If there was ever a time to release WM8 Hogan, it’s now. ![](https://i.imgur.com/hdlluIQ.jpg) Maybe they’ll do a “Late to the Party” promotion after the Macho promotion ends - back the thing after that date and you still get the core project plus the iconic WrestleMania 8 Hulk Hogan (another repaint of the Ultimate Hollywood but meh) - those who backed before get him as well, but Mattel have something to promote to the future backers as a sweetener as well.

I was thinking there has to be something coming after the 13th. If not, what’s your incentive to buy in? You missed out on Macho, why would you? I would love for it to be another figure but doubt it based on the multiple Steve interviews. If there’s nothing else, I forsee a huge drop in momentum after the 13th.

I'm officially in. I'm a sucker for Randy Savage figures and Mania X has been a want for me.

Most plausible scenario is they drop Doink into the 5k backers. However in the hypothetical scenario they add another new figure I don’t think Hogan is a good choice. He really doesn’t represent the new generation at all. The most logical choices would be Bret or Shawn as they can repaint the Ultimates they already have. A 96 Warrior would work too. And they all have the star power of a Macho Man. Maybe Razor if they went with a newcomer.

Yeah, the news that they diverted some of the marketing budget to pay for Macho and the commentator set sure sounds like they can’t add anything more, though we obviously don’t know how much of that budget saving the Macho set required - maybe they factored-in a post-Macho promotion? Seems unlikely the numbers could work for that. I’m sure they will have realised they risk a drop-off after the promotion ends. Maybe they figure the last few days will see a surge regardless? Or maybe they will just extend the Macho Man promotion until the end? They will have some sort of strategy for that anyway I’m sure.

Though I agree w/ you Bret & HBK are more fitting for the New Gen era, Steve definitely tries to emphasize that the neon entrance was around since Mania 8 and how all of these legends came through it. Again, I’d rather get a HBK or Hitman but Hogan would be a much cheaper repaint to throw in there. I really doubt there’s another figure coming but dropping the Doink down could help sway some people.

That Hogan doesn’t need to be ultimate either. An elite with cloth shirt and plastic headband is all you need.
