so a lot of the questions Tom asked were not asked by anyone in the thread on here. were they put out on FB or IG too? kind of curious where these questions came from. i thought i had asked some pretty good and unique ones this year (and of course a few that were meant to be funny) and not a single one was even hinted at.

Same. I put a lot of thought into some of mine.

They were also taking questions on their Facebook page. Those followers from what I see are more casual and will typically ask questions we already know the answers to. It's also alot of why can't you guys make so and so.

I also thought design team meant maybe some of the lesser known mattel team like copy writer, basics designers or other design folks.

Lol I love the list at the end, let us know if one of these guys could be possible starts with guys like Butch Reed and Gangrel and somehow ends with if its possible we’ll get Tamina or Dominik Mysterio.
Grade A quality question lol.

I loved Bill’s answer about Bianca Belair’s earrings. Insight into the design process is what I appreciate most from these Q&A videos.

We were definitely limited on time this year (both setting up and actual recording) so for sure sorry for the questions that were missed. Save them to add to a Q&A thread in the future and tag me and I'll be sure to make sure they get in. Hope everyone enjoyed everything else that came out.
As far as the list of names goes, if anyone can think of a better way to ask those types of questions that gets a valuable answer other than the one we all know is coming I'm all ears. I've kind of despised the time it takes to ask "when will we see so-and-so", obvious or non-obvious talent because of that and it evolved into me just gathering those names into a list so anyone that's new around here can see a response. But otherwise it's a tough thing to put forward.
Thanks for watching, also!

I think a great idea would be instead of a huge list presented to Bill and Steve, if we as a board conduct a yearly poll prior to SDCC and we present a "WF / Ringside Top 10" names that we would like to see. That way, Bill and Steve could give the "yes at least one / two / three / etc. of those is coming" and it would be more meaningful.

Also when giving a list of names it might be a good idea to leave off people who already have a figure like Tamina and Ziggler.

It always the same answer...."not available to us" "of course we'd like to put them in the line at some point" "if they are available, sure/yes/maybe they'll get made" Idk just feels like a wasted question every year.

I really hate the generic "would love to have them in the line" as much as we all do. The list that included Dolph ziggler, Dominik, and Tamina and then a maybe didn't get me excited or anticipating.
I like the idea of a poll and only presenting the top ten or fifteen most wanted. They love the surprise reveals and can't contractually mention some details. I get it. But tossing out some concrete hints that get people talking or speculating has to be a good thing. Maybe you could discuss it with them and get a better idea of what they can or cannot divulge.

I appreciate everyone's feedback so far and there are some good points - I also understand the frustrations in repeat questions. That said, I think it's pretty obvious what sort of thing can and can't be revealed, however, and that just makes this a bigger challenge.
I'm not opposed to a shortened list or a possible poll or something like that and I know it's tough for people who either already have a Dolph Ziggler or Tamina or know what's obvious like Dominik coming into the line, but I want to make sure we're covering the entire fanbase that's watching which isn't limited to folks here or even folks who are super in-the-know. Some people just don't have a previous Ziggler and are curious if he's going to be in a future lineup and for me that fits within this same discussion when we have limited time on camera with Mattel. Aside from that though I'd say if anyone is expecting a 'we've made a deal with the estate of Blackjack Mulligan' type hint, it isn't going to happen.
I'd say in the future it might be better to formulate a question about this to reference the era of the wrestlers you're looking for or get more specific:
- Can we expect more Ruthless Aggression era wrestlers in the future like Tyson Tomko, Matt Morgan or a classic Team Angle set?
- Over the years we've asked about Gangrel who was a staple of the Attitude Era being made and we haven't seen him yet - is this any closer to being a possibility?
Something like this is in my eyes probably going to be a more dynamic question than someone asking in one line "WHEN CAN WE HAVE STAN HANSEN" if we're talking outside of a grand list.
Even with that, though, I wouldn't expect a specific answer beyond what you're used to. Couldn't hurt to give it a shot!
Appreciate the responses.

I agree for the most part, however I really believe a poll would be very beneficial to us all. It also gives something back to Mattel that could potentially be presented to WWE, which in turn may aid them in pursuing certain deals. If we have a poll and the top 5 names that come back are (just random examples) Mr. Fuji, Bob Holly, The Great Khali, Gangrel, and The Sandman - that gives Mattel something that they can go, "here's what the consumer came back with as to what they REALLY want." Now I'm not saying it would have a massive impact or directly influence WWE or Mattel, but it may nudge WWE towards thinking along the lines of "ok, we didn't realise there was a demand for Bob Holly merch or The Sandman, so let's maybe pursue that."

I would be cautiously optimistic that may at least help nudge wwe to make these happen. I never know what is really going on in terms of contracts and they keep it close to the vest which is understood. Still would be nice to feel like they hear us. One of my questions was about a poll with actual talents as opposed to attire choices like mattycollector did once or twice.

I think it's a nice idea but I wouldn't put weight on something like WWE getting a fan list from Mattel (while of course both companies also already have talent in mind and data/information that they utilize themselves as Steve discussed) and approving/disapproving of it and it only. I would say Steve is pretty spot on when he says "if you want them, we want them" so it's not like a name like Gangrel, Hardcore Holly or Sandman is not considered or discussed.
Basically no one is forgetting any talent, especially a popular talent, and there are just things we as fans have to wait and see on.
I'm hoping for a lot of these names myself.
