How is Mattel able to keep making Jake The Snake Figures while he is signed to AEW?
Sting canceled from an elite line for signing with AEW?

Makes me wonder about Billy Gunn. Maybe he gave away his rights to be able to use his name elsewhere?

He's under a Legends deal that doesn't stop him from working elsewhere. Same with DDP and Billy. I wish Sting and Show had been able to sign the same deals.
Although I sense that deal might be coming up soon, which is why they put another Jake w/chase into the Legends line so soon.

Sting's legends deal expired, which was why his figure was cancelled.

Jake Roberts still owns his name and likeness. He also has a Pro Wrestling Tees store and recently had a MicroBrawler. |

Would’ve liked to get an early Crow paint Sting (his 1996 look). On the bright side, Billy Gunn being signed to a legends deal is fantastic. Hope to see more of Gunn, specifically ones (pun intended) based off of his short hair look. |

Not sure how they did it but I am glad they did. The blue flame tights are my favorites of Jake's, and I like that they added a black-gloved hand too. And it is nice to get one of his WCW attires.
Like most, I wish Sting would have signed a deal like this, I was really looking forward to his Legends figure. Plus, there are so many surfer Sting attires we needed.
I wonder if their roles in AEW have anything to do with it. Jake, Big Show, and Billy Gunn seem to be part-time performers/back stage help, etc. whereas Sting seems to be a regular performer, appearing weekly.

Eddie Guerrero has a Pro Wrestling Tees store and had a microbrawler and WWE reportedly owns his name/likeness. If true, then that means that having a PWT store/microbrawler doesn't necessarily rule out WWE owning someone's name/likeness.

I honestly don’t care why, just glad we’re getting more. It does seem like his deal is expiring. I don’t think they would have done four of him so close together if they weren’t running out of time on him.
I would really like Mania 7 Jake before all is said and done with his deal. It’s not the end of the world if we don’t get it, but it would have been my first pick of what hasn’t been done yet.

I can’t think of any other Jakes that I’d want. May pick up the next Legends just to swap heads with L2 but I kinda doubt it. Possibly if they make a Snake Pit Jake in street clothes, I’d consider getting that.

Here's a comparison of the Jakes. L2 on left; L13 on right. I think they're the same. Eyebrow shapes are a bit different, but might just be a paint issue or some liberties taken in the digital render (see also the photorealistic 'stache in L13).  |
