Just saying.
I see people out their questioning why Mattel would put Hogan in an exclusive line. Retail higher ups want in their exclusive lines who they know. It's likely they only know wrestlers from the 80s and 90s from when they were kids and movie stars like Batista the Rock. WWE just doesn't make those bigger than life stars anymore.

Now first let me say I had no problem ordering Hogan. There’s a way to do it that makes more sense. if Amazon wanted Hogan as an exclusive then Mattel should have given them Hogan in the either blue trunks, white trunks, another NWO attire or even the red/yellow tye-dye tights. But not his most popular/recognizable look red/yellow trunks. That should have been mass released. And if they feel they need to help the Amazon sales just release the Amazon exclusive 6 months before the mass retail one is released.

It's not like that UE is from the most memorable time in Hulks run in WWE. It's one of the low points. It's not like it's WM1 Hulk which possibly might be the series 13 UE rumored for Hulk.

In general most people identify Hogan in yellow trunks and boots with red knee pads or as Hollywood Hogan. As those were the height of his popularity. And with the yellow trunks era people might have different favorite shirts but the ring attire was always the same red & yellow. Once I receive the Amazon figure it will be my Hulkamania era figure. And I won’t need another yellow trunks figure unless there’s another with a better head sculpt.

This is true. Retail higher ups only like 80s and 90s wrestlers, like the Anvil, Rock, Kama, British Bulldog, Bob Backlund, Pete Dunne, Kassius Ohno, Sonya Deville and the Iiconics.

Correct. And on top of that -- almost all the collector's edition figures ARE 80s/90s guys...
Lines like the Target NXT are interesting -- Ruby Riott/Alastair Black wave were hard to find -- but the line was cancelled so quickly...

That's a weird conclusion. If anything it's pretty clear the retail-exclusive waves are distinguished by having THEMES more than anything. Legends are a theme, just like the big events like Royal Rumble and WrestleMania, or specific brands like NXT (or concept lines defined by format like WWE MOTU). Modern guys tend to be most heavily represented in the regular Elite waves because they're not inherently a theme with trademarked branding like "WWE Legends."

There's a reason why the likes of Warrior or up until only recently Steve Austin have never been appeared in the elite mainline. Mattel let's retailers have dibs on the heavy hitters to make them happy because they know they'll sell.

This video explains it perfectly. Thank you for sharing that. It was pretty informative. And the buyers are right. I own every single elite Steve Austin except for the first Defining Moments, the RSC, and the HBK BAF (which I never found). “But Stone Cold is always the same!” Yeah. But the vests are sometimes different and, more importantly, each one gets different knee braces slapped on them. Now I don’t have to keep swapping around knee braces because that’s a pain in the ass. I think I’m finally set on Stone Colds unless they come out with the snakeskin knee braces.
