I will say my only complaints are not enough Bokeem Woodbine or JK Simmons. Their roles aren’t anything major but as a big fan of both actors, I want them on my screens as much as I can get them. Also, Carrie Coon is a fox and I want her to ruin my life. i didn’t even realize that was j.k. simmons until i saw it mentioned in a review i read today. same with olivia wilde |

Thought it was amazing. Saw it last night and going again Sunday with my son and nephew. The muncher chase through town was my favorite part of the film. Made me feel like a little kid. I’m a fan of Wilde. What a pleasant surprise. I love that Gozer felt more three dimensional out running around in this one.
The ending was so special. I wasn’t expecting to be so emotional about it, as you knew it was coming, but it just pulled on every heartstring as a massive Ghostbusters fan, but, more so, on a familia level. I’m so happy this exists. McKenna Grace stole the show. The first half had such a unique feel and pacing to it. The second half gave you all the Buster elements you could ask for with the packs, and traps, and Ecto-1, and so on. Muncher was so great, Ivo tie-in so good, and we got just the right amount of mini pufts. So good.

I really enjoyed it. With that I understand a lot of the criticisms that have come out, even the harshest ones. A friend of mine said 'we're all not without our gripes but it was awesome' and that's kind of how I feel. After rewatching the first two it's easy to see where you cut them slack as a fan / moviegoer and there's no reason not to do the same with this one.
The 'Force Awakens' treatment is a miserable formula that I hate but this movie did it better than that did for sure. It still felt fresh and new enough. For me the difficulty was I didn't think the new characters were as compelling or funny as they should have been and so the movie of course speeds up when aspects of the older ones, especially comedy, shine through. It was for sure its own thing, definitely less comedy and more adventure.
Also tugged on my heartstrings (maybe unfairly towards the end) as suspected and I cried a couple times, particularly the opening scene which blindsided me. REAL MEN AREN'T ASHAMED TO ADMIT IT

Saw it friday night, absolutely loved it. Plenty of great callbacks and everything, and the ending was so well done, I definitely got emotional. Also McKenna Grace was great in her role, she fit in perfectly with the whole Ghostbusters vibe.
