Really the only issue I had with SummerSlam was Edge getting the win. He shouldn’t be winning ppv matches (or championships) at this point of his career.

That’s the trick with these guys, they need to lose more than they win, but they still need to win sometimes to remain in that main event picture. He just lost two to Roman, and Seth doesn’t really lose anything by losing. As long as he isn’t out there winning all the time I’m alright.

I think most (smart) people knew Brock was going to return. It wasnt if but when. There was never a doubt of where. Anyone that thought he was going to the other place was just fooling themselves. Im not a huge fan of the way Bianca lost but assuming it brings her into a heel turn & freshens up her character Ill withhold judgement. Everyone was concerned about what WWE/Vince could/would do to to counter the other place. One place brought in an ice cream sales man & the other brought in 2 Wrestlemania Main Eventers. I think WWE just flexed again. This isn’t Harry Potter, you are allowed to say AEW. 😂 Shhh dont say it. Its like Candyman..Those 3 letters are mentioned then they come in losing their minds cause you're not worshiping everything they do.

I’ll give WWE credit here. Roman has had the belt a year now and his reign still feels fresh and has a lot of gas left in the tank. There are reigns that sometimes go 3-4 months and feel so done at that point.

So finally watching Summerslam now as I was at ROH last night. Bliss comes out to a really big pop. So I mean she is obviously over. Why does the internet continue to insist this character isn’t over?

Why does the internet continue to insist this character isn’t over? I'll keep the WWE part too so I don't totally derail this. How was the roh show? I've been intrigued by the women they've been bringing in that I really enjoy watching (Alize and rok-c especially). They do pipe in sound a lot now so I have no idea how over she actually was. That said I expect it's pretty over with the majority of WWE fans. Just feels really wrong to keep going with it after firing Bray. Not quite fake razor/diesel lol, but very tacky and kinda scuzzy.

ROH was fun, they have a lot of roster decisions they need to make, so they very much feel like an uneven company right now. But there was a lot of good, a lot of ok, and a little bad. I know they pipe in stuff but it looks like people are really popping for her. It’s not like Nikki ASH where you hear the recycling noise and no one is moving. There is just this weird disconnect. Like a large section of the internet hates Danhausen but if you made a list of top five indie stars right now you can’t deny that he is on it.

I love that danhausen. Feel like I need to go put on my bootleghausen shirt now lol. Tequila!🎶
Any kinda fringe/off the wall gimmick like that can be over and there will be people trying to pretend it isn't. Went through the same thing with orange Cassidy. Abaddon too. She's super over despite what we may hear online. Hell even when the fiend first started. (I still love that very first firefly fun house segment. I remember a ton of comments on here thinking his actual gimmick was a kids show host and I was watching it thinking it was already super creepy and awesome. Shame it took a nosedive)

Usos vs Mysterios was disappointing. It was just fine and I expected a much better match.

i thought this show was absolutely way too ing long i thought Roman/Cena kind of sucked. Extremely boring and formula, and Cole/Pat were unbearable with their commentary (They're gonna make DOCUMENTARIES about this match!!!!) They literally acted like this was the single greatest wrestling match the audience has ever seen in the history of human existence. It's absolutely beyond overkilling at this point. Lashley/Goldberg was better than I expected because I just expected the usual 3 spears, near falls and Lashley wins with a random move. The ending was flat as , but apparently its because they are going to re-match in Saudi so gotta make sure Goldberg looks strong in defeat. Terrible booking at its finest. Edge's brood entrance and attire was incredible. Edge & Seth had the most enjoyable wrestling of the night....but I don't know where they go from here. Roman is untouchable/unbeatable, so Edge is just a guy on the show who's doing things. Riddle & Orton winning the tag belts was great, but the match was rushed as and not well done at all. I just wish this company would pump the brakes for once on over-hyping everything and focus on making QUALITY. There was so much filler nonsense garbage last night, and so many things that could have been left off and still had a big show. If they want to make Summerslam "Wrestlemania 2.0" then just pull the trigger and make it 2 nights as well. I truly feel that the WWE has gone completely overboard with the MORE IS MORE concept. They think that by putting on a 4+ hour marathon mega super historic event! its going to make people keep tuning in in droves. Meanwhile RAW is at its worst point in history in terms of quality, ratings and overall fan interest (but they'll never mention that...instead just how many youtube subscribers they have), Peacock sucks, and Smackdown is now The Roman Reigns show, which is what Vince wanted all along.

Everything is over-hyped because everything is a “MOMENT!” Literally every second of their programming we are reminded we are watching “HISTORY” and it’s a “MOMENT TO REMEMBER!” Its at its worst during WM season, but is a consistent issue throughout the year. Nothing is ever allowed to be organic any longer, and if there is even a hint of that, the WWE paints so many layers of their crap over it that it’s nearly unrecognizable.

I enjoyed Roman/Cena and Seth/Edge. Overall though it was very underwhelming. Lashley should have murdered Goldberg. We don’t need a rematch in Saudi. Seems like they are already booking that show despite having a PPV lined up before it.

Finally got around to watching the full Edge/Seth match, really enjoyed it. Both guys seemed invested and it was definitely my favorite match from the event. Much better than Roman/Cena which ended up being fairly formulaic but at least the crowd was hot throughout the match. This puts Cena at 0-2 to Roman now, Cena will eventually get 1 or even both wins back at some point.
Vince McMahon is a joke.

I really enjoyed the show. I've joined a new Pick 'em League with some friends that runs from SummerSlam to WrestleMania, so it's not a massive commitment, and it adds a bit of fun that's been lacking for me for a bit. I got a good 7/10 right, so I'm off to a good start, hahaha.
The only thing I didn't like was the circumstances around the SmackDown Women's Championship. I feel like everything that was accomplished there could have been done without chumping out Bianca. I'm not gonna go all Hogan BatB '00 and cut my "that's why this company is in the condition it is, because of crap like this" because god isn't that grating, but it was definitely the low point in an otherwise fine PPV, especially around a moment that should have been otherwise perfectly memorable.

Match 1: Raw Tag Team Championship - Okay match but AJ Styles needs to ditch Omos cause he deserves better and Omos is greener like a leaf of lettuce Match 2: Alexa Bliss Vs. Eva Marie - Boring and should have been on Raw and Eva Marie is trash. Match 3: United States Championship - Okay match right person went over. Match 4: SmackDown Tag Team Championship - The Money in the Bank Kick Off match was better. Match 5: SmackDown Women's Championship - Vince knew 8 days ago that Sasha Banks wasn't going to compete in the match made an announcement on SmackDown or the Kick Off show. It's cool that Becky is back but damn she wins the title in 27 seconds with a move I don't remember her using last year. They made Bianca look strong early in the year, main evented night one of WrestleMania and you give her the Kofi Kingston treatment. Get the out of here with that bullcrap. Match 6: Drew McIntyre Vs. Jinder Mahal - Boring match and should have been on Raw. Match 7: Raw Women's Championship Triple Threat Match - Okay match, They could have made two stars in the match with Nikki A.S.H. and Rhea Ripley with having either of them win but no they gave it to Overrated and Overexposed Charlotte Flair. They buried A.S.H. and Ripley and the Raw women's division is low in body and faces. Asuka and Flair has been done to death already and Bliss and Flair is a match they can go with but damn this division is sad to see. Match 8: Edge Vs. Seth Rollins - Great match didn't have an issue with Edge winning Match 9: WWE Championship - Boring and I hope we don't see these two in a match ever again. This is Goldberg's last match this year with his 2 match a year deal. Match 10: Universal Championship - Overbooked and to long for a Reigns and Cena match. This show went on too long

Who was there live to see Lesnar's post-show beatdown of Cena? How was it?

Finally got around to watching Summerslam, and my God...every single match aside from Rollins/Edge was boring as hell. I must be the only one who isn't drinking the Reigns kool-aid, cause damn...dude does nothing for me.
The wins and losses not mattering has such a negative impact on everything. Nothing means anything anymore. Also...don't even get me started on the Smackdown women's title match. Just...wow. Such a toxic company.
