I think the issue would be the NIL with Owen Hart. Of course Jazwares can make an Owen figure but can they make him in his WWE attire(s)? Just because you trademark the name doesnt mean you trademark those logos. Even PWT avoided his micro brawler in looking like his WWE TM run.

You're not going to get the figure of Owen you want. No King of Harts, no High Energy, No Blue Blazer, no NOD Owen.

Even if I wouldn't customise it afterwards. Which I would.

Bret and Neidhart used the same tights designs going into WCW in the late 90s, as long as it's not associated with a WWE owned character (like the Blue Blazer) it should be fine. Owen appeared in Legends of Wrestling with his Hart Foundation 97, Danger, OH and Faded Hart attires.

I think Martha owns all the image rights, hence her lawsuits with WWE a few years ago. She argued that they were trying to profit from using his image whereas WWE argued that they had an agreement with Owen to use his image beginning in 1996.
Those looks wouldn't be a problem and would be for Martha to license. I don't think PWT avoided those looks as such, more that Martha chose them for her own reasons (remembering Owen before WWE or a time that meant something to her, or just merely promoting the Owen Hart Foundation).

Black singlet. Pink hearts. Pink trim. Y’all are goofy if you think they can’t put pink hearts on a figure. Reminds me of the people who argued that Jazwares can’t make a WCW Sting.

PWT has learned from the Mattel playbook. Put out less desirable looks when a character is first available, then cash in with the must have attires later. If you bought the two singles + the crate, they brought in around $80 without making a single look most fans would put in their top 10 Owen attires. No doubt they will make more.

We did get the Micro Brawler Owen a few months ago so it might not be out of the realms of possibility. I think it was the WWE factor that we never got anything of Owen, so I would say if anyway there’s a chance, it’ll be with AEW.

I watch a trademark lawyer on YouTube and it’s mind blowing and so much of it is grey and not black and white. That’s why disputes can in some instances go on for years and years I don’t claim to know much at all about it, but it’s a total minefield dealing with trademarks snd copyright hence why there’s lawyers specifically specialising in it, similar to patents and design rights and that sort of stuff

I don't care who makes it or if it's a perfect recreation of a WWE attire or something similar to avoid legal issues I just want an Owen figure.

I’ve read they may start a legends line inspired by Dark Side of The Ring I was just imagining that a couple days ago, micro brawlers got em so why not aew too? I doubt we'd get Dynamite or Benoit, but an Owen Hart figure with today's technology would be a huge deal

I only ever check this sub to see if there’s any news on legends. Why haven’t they pulled the trigger on this yet? Not Owen specifically but he’s the biggest name they could do.

Because they have an entire roster of people still wrestling to go through. A very large and constantly expanding roster at that

A very large and constantly expanding roster at that I’m not a huge follower, but there must be more like me that would buy in to the line if they added legends. From my perspective they’ve done a ton of repaints so the roster size isn’t the entire issue.

If JP gets the rights, I hope they absolutely nail the likeness. The potential for AEW Legends could be amazing.

I'm not saying it will happen, but if it does happen, I can only imagine the insanity that would surround it.
You want to see scalpers at work?
Watch those guys start paying strangers to buy the figures to get around the purchase limit. You wouldn't see a single one of those figures on the bay under 80 dollars. You'd have people listing them with words like "Recalled" and "Forbidden" along with the obvious "Super rare" stuff just to get people to buy them.
It would be nuts.
