WWF Nailz Hasbro distribtuion question

The Nasty Boys really seem to be notoriously hard to find back in the day.

And I was still playing with my figures, and RIPPED open those green cards. It's one of the best Hasbro sets, in my opinion -- esp. Kidd, Borga, and Adam Bomb with an assist from Evil Crush!

Same. I never saw the yellow card figures in my area either. The first time I actually saw one in hand was when a friend or mine's dad ordered a few off eBay towards the end of the 90s. Was really disappointed in the HBK figure from that set, I really liked the prototype that was shown in the WWF magazine, I really wanted that one. I also never saw LOD or the Nasty Boys in stores either. I was able to purchase both teams years later off eBay, but, by then, I had stopped playing with toys - just got them because I always wanted them and put them with the other figures. I also never saw the green series set until years later when I saw them on eBay, at first I thought they were knock-offs or custom made figures. Also, for some reason Series 3 was hard to find, other than the main guys (Hogan, Savage, Natural Disasters, Boss Man), I only saw the others a couple of times in stores. Only saw S3 Warrior once but picked up the Texas Tornado figure instead thinking I would see Warrior again - but I never did.   I guess distribution problems were always a thing...

The only time I ever saw a yellow card in stores was Shawn Michaels at KB. God I miss that store. I bought Nailz from Edward Bay back in the day. Awesome figure. 

I watched it. Thanks for sharing that. I have great memories of that place. I got a Sega Cd and some games there in the mid 90’s. I was a big Sega fan, but I legit never heard of the Sega Cd until we saw it there that night. Oh the days before the internet… it made it so much better when you would go to the store and be stunned when you saw things. I vividly remember going to a Walgreens and seeing the Jimmy Snuka hasbro and my mind being blown - I had no idea that figure existed until that moment. Another great thing about going to kaybee was that in the mall right next door was a pet shop, so we would go look at the puppies in the window. Those were the days. 

The only place I remember seeing the Nasty Boys and LOD as a kid was at the Toy Liquidators clearance chain. I didn't buy them back then.

The amount of Rockers and Bushwhackers clogging the pegs must've really killed the distro for Nastys/LOD.

For me it was Kamala, not Nailz who vanished from the pegs, before eventually finding him at Kay-Bee. I found series 3, 5,6 blue cards at TRU, Yellow Cards at TRU, Red Cards were at Harts (a local department store), Purple at TRU, Dark Blue at Harts, never found Green in a store.
Never found in store: Green Cards, Nasty Boys, Koko B. Ware, Warrior 3, Honky Tonk Man, Dusty Rhodes, Andre the Giant, Rick Rude.

I remember not knowing the cards were changing colors and being floored by that. The anticipation of the next waves, and finally finding them. I was fortunate to find the colors up until green, it sounds like some people struggled by that point.

LOD were plentiful near me, even past the end of the Hasbro line - but only on foreign cards in KB Toys dump bins. For some reason, there was an influx of foreign carded Hasbro figures in those 3 for $10 bins around the mid-'90s.

The Rockers stuck around at Hill's up until around the time the chain closed.
