It actually was still the blue and purple straps. But with all the abuse and wear and tear and sweat and baby oil and such, the straps had blackened by that point This is close. The blue belt (and purple) did become covered in dirt, spam, etc. so eventually all belts switched to black when the block letter logo was replaced with the scratch logo. |

What’s ironic is as they started to switch the WWF Big Eagle, Oval IC, and Light Heavyweight from their colored straps to black straps in the fall of 1998, they switched the European from a black to green strap.

Heard my phone ding at 2:10 am and finally was able to get one from Target. They had 4 at the time, and they disappeared right away.

Am I the only one having issues with getting the alternate heads on? The holes are definitely smaller. I had to use a hair dryer to get one on, and it sat way too low on the neck. Kind of a bummer.

Austin and Flair seem to be the first series that I feel the alternate heads pop on/off easily without looking like they are giraffe necked. |

-The blue world title and purple intercontinental titles were introduced the night after Wrestlemania 14, and both had the block logos as they were commissioned before the logo change was set in stone
-Austin had the smoking skull belt made because of his conversation with LOD about it fitting his character, and was pissed that the big eagle belt gave him a really bad “hard way” cut when somebody hit him with it
-smoking skull belt comes in, Austin stops using the blue block logo big eagle belt
-by the time of the Deadly Game tournament they had a new belt made on a black strap with the scratch logo
-meanwhile the intercontinental belt got dirty and was a very disgusting black color by Wrestlemania 15, but they kept using that belt all the way until Chyna won it at No Mercy, Chyna was the first person to have the proper black strap scratch logo IC belt

I ordered one on June 4th from Amazon and it still hasn’t shipped.
Luckily I found one at Target this week.

I feel like this is going to become a valuable figure given how hard it is to find at retail -- esp. compared to Flair, which is probably the greatest figure of him ever made. I'm surprised Austin is more popular

I saw one each of the Flair and Austin at Target earlier. They weren't there on Thursday when I went.
