Women's wrestling isn't really my cup of tea. I'm really, really picky and have a high standard for any women's division. That said, it's a really good look to give not just Baker but the Women's Division the first main event of the new show.
The match itself was fine, but hopefully this buys some good will with women's wrestling fans.

Watched it with sound off late last night so I have no idea what the commentary was like. Without commentary this was one of the best hours of aew ever for me.
Christian/Omega was amazing on silent. Fantastic match, right ending. Left me actually excited for the rematch at all out so well done to both those guys at accomplishing that.
Miro/Fuego and the segment after was basically perfect.
I thought the main event was really strong too. They wrestled a very smart match and it carried over fantastically without sound. Loved it, and even though I already saw the spoiler and popped hard then, I popped just as hard actually seeing Hayter come out. When all the UK ladies started signing with NXT my only thought was please not Hayter, please not Hayter, then she showed up here in absolutely phenomenal shape. Couldn't be happier with that.

I had no doubt Omega/Christian would be a great match and it was. And no doubt All Out will be even better when they get more time to work together.
I’m also glad Christian won as it finally shows some “cracks in the armor” with regards to The Elite. Hangman taking time off leaves AEW at a fork in the road, where they either stay the course, Kenny and the Bucks keep beating everyone, and eventually Hangman dethrones him, or they go a different route and show Kenny is vulnerable. I’m glad they’re going with the second route as it’ll get boring fast if The Elite continue with the same booking for the foreseeable future. Plus, it wasn’t a clean loss, so I don’t see how this hurts Hangman’s eventual win or Kenny’s momentum. Kenny was being booked as the stronger of the two in the match, and Christian put him over in the post-match interview as well. Heck, I’m fine with Andrade beating Kenny tonight as long as it’s not clean either. Then at All Out, a desperate Kenny beats Christian clean, and continues a story of barely clinging to his final title before Hangman comes back and beats him clean.

Re: if punk didn't show up. It's obviously not happening, but if it did the amount of damage control that would need to be done would be enormous. Would be the single biggest mistake in company history by a very large margin. I honestly don't know if they could sell out Chicago again if he didn't show up
