The real crying starts in a year when the reality of only 8,000ish of us have this product. I think it'll hit 9k by the end but yeah the reality dawning on people that they won't be able to get one after they passed it up is gonna be interesting to watch.

Meltdowns were inevitable regardless of how this went. The only variable is who's doing the crying.

Also as a side note, I’ve seen a TON of people complaining about the logo. I don’t understand this at all. THEY CAN’T USE THE WWF LOGO. Don’t blame Mattel for that, blame the WWE for being the ones who violated the agreement they had. 🤷♂️ This actually isn't true. They choose not to use the old WWF block logo for consistency of their brand. WWE was still releasing merch about 10 years ago with the old logo (I bought a block WWF logo t-shirt at Urban Outfitters). They're not allowed to use the term "WWF", but the previous logo is still fair game if they wanted to use it. The fact that they created the WWE block logo is the reason why they won’t use it. They lost the court battle originally but didn’t want to create brand confusion, so they continued to use it. That item was most likely in production before this went into effect. I wanna say they did it originally in 2008, then the court decision happened in 2010. After that they went full time with the WWE block logo and never looked back. So regardless, it’s still WWE’s fault and not Mattel.
