I open most but sometimes I wait too long to open them and they gain value, and that makes me keep them MOC. Ultimate Edition Warrior is a good example. Also sometimes I'll get a loose or MOC one on eBay, so I leave the first one I got as is.
MOC takes up more space, but even as a kid I loved the look of a packaged figure, so I still leave some that way. Putting a figure protector on them makes them look even better most times, so I'll do that some, too.
Overall, though, I let them breathe.

I keep my Ultimates, Exclusives and Chase figures all MOC/MIB. Elites and commons get opened.

I open the bulk of mine. I am now getting a set of the Legends to keep MOC, but also a set to open. Only exceptions are figs that have shot up in value so much so fast. When I found Ultimate Hollywood Hogan on the pegs at my Target the value seemed to be in the $70+ range so I will wait for a new Hollywood release to get an opener.

I do both. I'll usually open every figure I get, then keep any extras boxed. Sometimes I'll buy 2 to open and use for different purposes, just depends. For example, I bought 2 of the new 2006 Ultimate Cena, and opened both. One for my Raw shelf, and one for my ECW shelf. I've also bought 2 of every Elite/Ultimate current day Edge. One to open, and one to keep MOC for my modern Edge display.

I try to limit my collecting to figures I'd actively want to get signed if I ever got the chance to meet that person. I have started a loose New Gen collection and considering expanding to RAs but haven't decided a year range yet.

I play with them like an immature man baby. Is it weird? Yeah. But I think gambling is weird, so get off my back, Shiela! No judgement! Go for it.

I do both.
Some figures I open and display, others I keep MOC. A lot of it depends on the figure itself. Sometimes I like a figure to the point where I want 2. One to open and one to keep MOC. I’m to the point where I buy 2 of most UEs because of how that market has gone crazy. Also, when Mattel does some kind of special packaging I like (Shockmaster, Retrofest, and ones that get packed and posed in an awesome way) I’ll keep one MOC.

I struggle with this. I was a MOC only collector for years but I recently bought a lot of about 60 figures loose and love having them out to pose. I’m getting into figure photography as well and that obviously pushes me towards loose figures.
I’ve been buying doubles of many the last few months as I’m still fighting whether to move to loose or stay MOC. That’s not a long term solution as it’s crushing my wallet. I go back and forth everyday. I don’t know what to do at this point. But I’m going to have to make a decision.

My obligatory repost to each of these topics You should’ve slashed every box with a boxcutter for good measure.

What I typically do is open my newer stars and leave my Legends MOC

I'm almost exclusively loose but I do have a small handful of MOC figures. All but one or two of those I have loose doubles of.
I will say that I've started collecting the AEW figures MOC. I have a small row in defenders on my wall. I'm trying to collect every woman in the two lines both loose and MOC. Right now I have S1(a) Brandi, Riho, and Shida all on the wall MOC along with a S1(a) Jericho. The only one of those that I have loose is Riho, although I have 1b Brandi and Jericho figures loose.
Those AEW figures are probably the only MOC figures I'm going to be continuing with. There's nothing else I can think of going on right now that I want to keep MOC.
