It’s a damn travesty that Shelton Benjamin was never a wwe champion. Dude was so athletic, and he still could be. Since boo you lashleys only one year younger than him and he’s wwe champ.

Eh, I just don’t think he has “it.” Don’t get me wrong I always liked him, especially with Team Angle/WGTT and his early singles run, but he’s not great on the mic and really doesn’t have much of an on screen personality. And these days he doesn’t stand out in-ring either. He’s more than fine for his role, or what his role was with Hurt Business, but that’s just the way I see it.

Great ring performer but not enough star power. Don't @ me.

Not champion but material but earned a bigger push for sure. Especially right now, being jobbed out to oblivion on Main Event is silly use of him but it was expected after he broke from the Hurt Biz. Which was executed in a very poor way.
Maybe the only positive is that he is on RAW & therefore still wrestling on TV. Even if its on the jobber shows. If he was on Smackdown he would be off TV for months & months. Which would likely end up with him being released.

Great in the ring but he never had the charisma to put him over the top IMO. I loved him in the IC and US Title pictures from 2004-2010. I think that was the prefect spot for him. Not everyone is a main eventer but that’s not a knock on them. Shelton fit a role and played it well in his prime.

Great wrestler and athlete but not world champion material. He never went anyone else and did anything of substance. Still just a tag guy in ROH and was a giant bust in New Japan.

He's in the world of sports entertainment. Never had a shot. Had AEW, MLW, or ROH been around way back when like they are now, he'd had seen success. WWE might pay well and get you famous ... but it's its own breed of BS. He missed his chance.

Much like Cesaro, incredible talent, but not a good enough talker to be a main event guy.

If WWE has shown us anything recently its that with the right mouthpiece anyone can be champion. Shelton with the right person to work the stick for him could have worked back in mid 2000s but I think the ship has likely sailed now.

My response in this same thread from earlier in the year I love Shelton! Not everyone you love needs to be world champion.

Always was fantastic, just not much on the mic. I wonder if he could’ve been world champ material with a manager.

Great ring performer but not enough star power. Don't @ me. Shelton with Mamma Benjamin would have been the best time to pull the trigger on him if it was ever gonna have happened. The dude on his own, while athletic as hell, just doesn't have the presence, would have been great to see Mamma Benjamin in the Paul Heyman role for him. "she's not my Mom, She's my P.A! "

Well, to be fair, the guy couldn't even make it to being ROH Champion, or even ECW Champion when he was in that brand.
Shelton is a great worker, a great wrestler, and can have one helluva match. But over all?? He's not the total package. Nothing about him screams, "I MUST SEE THIS MAN WRESTLE!!!"
He couldn't talk to save his life on the microphone, and he was always more suited as a tag wrestler I find. Shelton and Haas were a great team for Smackdown back in the RA era.

As pretty much everyone else stated not a world champion caliber talent but with that said should be used a hell of a lot better then he's been the last few years in WWE.Yes he's in his mid 40's now but can still go nearly as well as his first run and in terms of his look barely looks any different from his prime. He should be in the mid card mixing it up for the US/IC Title. He's one of the many older talents that WWE has booked terribly in the last decade plus baring the part timers that wrestle maybe a few times per year.If your and older talent that returns full time your usually booked pretty poorly baring maybe a few months run.Look at Benjamin,Hardy,Mysterio and when guys where around like Goldust,Kane,Big Show,Mark Henry...ect at a point even if their still over, can go and still have some star power the WWE turn them into such jobbers that wins over them mean nothing and in turn don't help out the younger talent.
Really think with both Benjamin & Hardy being used so poorly that they should throw them together in a tag team and let them have a run in the division which is pretty much a waste land on RAW.Heel or face team doesn't matter and you could call the team "Extreme Aggression" as a play on the Team Extreme Hardy Boyz name and Extreme Aggression era where both had a large role.

Thought Shelton Benjamin was excellent in his 2007/2008 days and practically carried some Money in the Bank matches in my opinion. Unfortunately he just never had much charisma or a good PPV match to get him over.
