For me it’s gotta be Marty Jannetty.
He was with the company so many times, was an intercontinental champion, Tag-Team Champion with 123 Kid (as well as in the Rockers but it wasn’t officially counted which is a crime) had an extended run as a popular tag team with Shawn Michaels in the Rockers and somehow was always omitted from the games. How was he not in a single one?
I’m surprised he didn’t AT LEAST make it into a Legends of Wrestling type game! I understand they probably couldn’t get Shawn at the time of those games releases, but even a solo Marty would have been welcome.
What do you guys think? Feel free to include a gimmick that was never featured in a game if you can think of one as well

I never knew that about Marty Jannetty. I was never a big wrestling game guy, so I dont know who has appeared in a video game or not. Japan has their own wrestling video games, so I think you can eliminate most Japanese stars there. Some of my picks would be
The Patriot Eli Drake/LA Knight Sam Houston Nick Bockwinkel

Gorilla Monsoon and Butch Reed come to mind
And side note-those LOW games hands down had the best legend rosters.

Jim Londos, George Hackenschmidt, Frank Gotch, Lou Thesz (honestly not sure), Mildred Burke, Rikidozan, El Santo (again not sure), Danny Hodge, Ernie Ladd (another maybe).

He must have been in others but I know for a fact he was in that one.

The original Legends of Wrestling game had RVD & Sabu, as well as top rope chair shots because it was originally being developed as an ECW game before they went out of business. Fun fact 😎👍

One that really stands out for me is WrestleMania The Arcade Game which is one of my all time favorite games. However, due to the long development time the roster at release had some major holes, most notably Diesel, Owen Hart and The British Bulldog.
For me the single biggest glaring omission from a WWF game is Randy Savage..... yep, I loved the Wrestle Fest arcade game, but the one key piece it is missing for me is Macho King Randy Savage. As much as I freaking love that game he is a huge miss for me.

I feel like it was because he had a top rope finish but they jump off the top in that game. I just wonder if it would have been a targeting issue? Also, Adam Bomb was supposed to be in WrestleMania the Arcade Game, but got removed. He did the animations and everything

Yea, and they had a grounded dazed position to designate when he’d be able to hit the Macho Elbow. That would be the only difference is that there needed to be a way to activate it as a finisher rather than being able to use it at will. I don’t get that one, I’d say it was roster space but I would have included Savage over Dibiase/ Slaughter/ Roberts or even Earthquake if we’re talking space issues. A very odd exclusion indeed.

A Flying Stomp or Kneedrop shouldve been the default top turnbuckle move. Nobody uses those as finishers.

You know what, could you climb to the top rope during the cage matches? I’m wondering, it sticks out to me that nobody in the game has a top rope finish except LOD and they only wrestle 1 match as a boss character so it’s a controlled environment. I feel like it has something to do with a gameplay limitation or disruption, why else wouldn’t they include Savage? It’s almost impossible that he’s not in that game haha Even though, he’s in its predecessor Superstars and I believe that game had steel cage matches too so idk 🤷♂️

And, yes, Macho King was a huge whole in the old Wrestle Fest arcade game, Piper, Perfect, and Model would have been great additions as well. I really wish WWE would make one of those large style Arcade Game systems like NBA Jam, Ninja Turtles, and X-Men all have done. Including Superstars, Wrestle Fest, WrestleMania The Arcade Game, and In Your House would be amazing.

He’s great too because the Perfect-pleas is an auto pin

He’s great too because the Perfect-pleas is an auto pin Weird, I don't think I meant to type Perfect but now I can't remember who I was thinking of. It would be great if they made them, most of the wrestlers that were in those games are under contract with the WWE so they wouldn't have to worry about that. The only ones I can think of that wouldn't be in the game would be Owen Hart, LOD, Demolition, Ahmed Johnson and maybe Virgil. If they were able to release these games, and couldn't use those wrestler, they could always replace them with wrestlers from that time period that are currently under contract. For instance, in WrestleFest, if they couldn't use LOD or Demolition, they could use the Hart Foundation, Randy Savage, and Roddy Piper. Since they probably couldn't use Owen for the In Your House game, they could replace him with Diesel. Ahmed Johnson could be replaced with Razor Ramon or Stonecold Steve Austin. If they couldn't release these in the giant arcade form, I wouldn't mind them releasing these games for PS5, XBOX, or PC.

As many have posted above, there is too many really to name and it shows.
I also think it depends on what wrestler was with what company when the video game came out too.
But with the create a player option now in video games, there isn't any need to worry about what wrestler did or didn't make a game when you yourself can now create him on said game.

Here’s to hoping they release WrestleFest someday haha. Its the #1 game at this point to never see a home release, they’ve pretty much released everything else from arcade at this point. I also wish we can can remakes someday of old games like the AKI ones on N64. Everyone else is doing remakes, remasters…I’d love a remaster of old Nintendo wrestling games on Switch
