Let’s take a look at what Mattel has given us! Kofi, Natalya, Orton, Morrison, Shelton, Rey, Edge, Jeff Harvey, and others are all current, active wrestlers that Mattel gave us flashback versions of recently.
Well, I want to see 2005-2006 era Shelton Benjamin, Miz in shorts, and debut era MVP. Maybe an early-era Dolph Ziggler or a Nexus Wade Barrett? It’s been 10 years!
What current roster wrestler do you want flashbacks of in attires we haven’t gotten before or since 10 years ago?

Bobby Lashley- White shorts (Id like to see gold ones as well but I dont think he wore those in WWE)
Cory Graves- NXT Wrestling attire
Rhea Ripley- MYC debut
Alexa Bliss- NXT Blue debut or Purple early attire

I jest. In all seriousness, I would love to see:
Shane: WrestleMania X-Seven is my biggest want but at this point I will take any flashback basic that will get me more heads to use.
Stephanie: Again, WrestleMania X-Seven is a want (and I'm working on making one) but I really just want a Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley figure period. The Milk-O-Mania head doesn't quite work for her SMH look and I need a better headsculpt for her from 2000.
Vince: Attitude Era. In. A. Suit. Please, it isn't that difficult. You have the molds, cobble them together and make this happen.
Now that the McMahons are out of the way...
Alexa Bliss: I lowkey want her cheerleader look, complete with pom poms. As much of a flop as that gimmick was, I think she'd look great on my shelf.
MVP: Flashback to his original Elite. I will never in a million years get that Series 1 figure so a remake would be nice.
Edge: I'd love to see a new Brood Edge. From the attitude era, of course. Not that the original ones weren't good but I'd like to see if they could improve on them. Might just be me though. Also, did we ever get a proper Edge & Christian era Edge? I know we got the Christian (which is insanely expensive now) but I don't know if we ever got Edge in an Elite.
John Morrison: I need them to revisit brown fur coat JoMo but with a better headsculpt. That's one I really want for my collection but it's absurdly expensive even loose. Make a new one please.
Sami Zayn: Not really a flashback, so to speak, but I would have given an arm for a Sami figure in hoodie and sweats. Or at least one with the plaid-lined jacket. They all look wrong in just the T-Shirts.
Kevin Owens: Again, this ship has probably sailed, but I wish we had gotten his NXT Debut attire in an Elite. The Basic works well enough but neither version has a great head and I'm not fond of the look for the KO Basics vs the Elites. Just painting the shirt on the torso makes the basics look half the size. It bugs me. Also, Kevin in his French "KO" shirt from when they were in Montreal in 2018 is another I really wish we could have gotten. Again, not really a flashback, but it is an older attire that I wish we had gotten.
And finally, one that sits firmly in the "Pipe Dream" category...
Filthy Animals Rey Rey. I know this is on the "Never gonna happen" list but I really want one. Badly.
Anyway, those are the ones I can think of right now. I'm sure I'll think of more later.

I would love an update of 2008 King of the Ring Regal. They should honestly do a King of the Ring set for Target with a Build-a-Throne. This isn't flashing very far back, but Alexa's Freddy Krueger gear is still her coolest look and I'm upset we never got it.

Sucks that, for the most part, the 2000s are neglected for Flashbacks in favor of the 80s and 90s.
From Elite 77-87, outside of Undertaker, they were all either 80s- early 90s figures or women’s figures. Blassie, Graham, Undertaker, Johnson, Mae Young, Bulldog, PS Hayes, Zelina, Kama, Mustafa, Warlord. And I think Goon and Strongbow are next so it’s not stopping any time soon. Ik Strongbow is more 70s but he was tag champ in 82-83 too

Rey: We def need more RA Reys. It's amazing they haven't touched many of them especially with UE possibilities.
Brock: I'd kill for a UE Here Comes The Pain era Brock.
McIntire: They could easily do another Chosen One Drew.
JBL: I know we are getting the Acolytes one in an upcoming legends but the fact we haven't gotten an Undisputed Champion JBL is baffling.
Morrison: Considering how much Mattel loves making half of tag teams why not an MNM Johnny Nitro?
Jeff Hardy: I wouldn't mind a Mid 2000's IC Champ Jeff.
MVP: This is painfully obvious to do
Shelton Benjamin: Once again, how do you make his only flashback a chase. Give me Hawaiian shirt IC champ Shelton
Kendrick: Idk if he's still even on the roster but we could def get a The Brian Kendrick with soft good coat
They also have guys like Kidman, Nobel, D-Von, etc as agents all of which I would love figures for. Especially a Reveroned D-Von.

I would really buy anything 2005-2010. That could be any number of characters who are still wrestling today. My real sweet spot is 2006-2008 because I am just in love with that era as its my earliest memories of wrestling.
I think we need more Flashback Rey Mysterio's desperately. I am dying for any elite Rey's from like 1995 to 2008.

EDIT: Forgot about Rey, I would still be interested in more WCW versions of him. I like that Network Spotlight Vince and the KOTR 2001 Shane but I agree. We need like an elite 2-pack from the KOTR '99 ladder match they had with Stone Cold or something. I'd also love to have a suited 1998 Vince or like a WM15 Shane. |
