So just thinking about it with the shipping of UE11, given that we only get 2 per wave, are ultimate editions the definitive figures of any given wrestler? Now that we’re starting to get some second releases of superstars (Warrior, Hogan, HHH, HBK), which do you consider the definitive figures they’ve released? I think there’s a consensus that Hollywood Hogan is one of the best figures ever made, and the Kane is incredible too. But for others like the first HBK, did it miss the mark or are there better Mattel HBK figures than the UE? I started thinking about this with HHH specifically. I got back into collecting too late to try and get the first UE HHH, and while I think that is the definitive look for him for me, I prefer the Summerslam Elite and even the 2 pack elite with Chyna to it. So which UEs are the definitive representations for you guys? I think I’d throw the Bret there if not for anything else it’s one of the few we got a jacket with

Kane is not definitive he has painted right arm and after some timepaint will chip off rest the figure is beast. Hollywood is perfect in my opinion and I don't want another , in hand triple h is a beauty and I need this version of the triple h in my collection.

I think it depends on your preference in both scale and character design. I prefer UE 10 Rock and UE 11 Kane AND Undertaker over any other figures any of them have ever had. UE Warrior, Bret Hart, HBK...I have different preferences for all three of those otherwise. I like the RSC Exclusive Warrior best, the WM 30 HBK and still am undecided on Bret, but I know it's not Ultimate Edition for me. For Cena I like the Elite
There are definitely some Elites out there that can be way more definitive and Ultimate Editions that can but really we wouldn't be able to make that call without a version of each for EVERY character which isn't going to happen.
I'd say get what you like and just make sure they all look in scale next to each other!

I think that is the aim of this line, weather it actually pans out as such will be a different view for every person. For me, some are definitive, so that is the reason I have bought the ones I have so far. Well, except one which was too good a bargain to pass on.

I agree with the statement that it’s really whatever you like the most. That’s all that should really factor into it. For some I like their Ultimate more, and for others I like their Elite more.
(please remove the toe articulation from Ultimates, though)

Depends on how you view the characters imo
For some, HHH 1 would be the definitive version but for me it would be the 03-05 black trunks and boots version
Same with Undertaker, some find 98 as definitive, I see it as the 06-08 version

No, its a matter of opinion. Wrestlers can have a Basic as their best figure.

I think which plastic iteration of a specific character is their "definitive" form is really subjective, tbh. Agreed. Finn alone defies the idea of a definitive figure of someone; you would need two minimum for him. When you get into guys like Undertaker who have so many distinct career phases, no group of people is going to consider the same era fully representative.
Macho's Ultimate is great but cowboy era Macho isn't really my definitive idea of him. Meanwhile, Nak's Ult fits his NXT run and a reasonable substitute for an NJPW Nak, so it's the exact Shinsuke I want in my collection. The closest you could reasonably come to a definitive Ult is probably Ronda.

Nailed it. The UE Rousey is totally her definitive look - she had a short run, and I think that's the look to go with. For me, Becky's works too - it was the height of my being a fan of hers, I was at WrestleMania 35, and so that's the Becky I want in my collection. For me, the definitive Savage is WrestleMania 3. For Undertaker, it's as the leader of the Ministry. I definitely have more Elites (that have UEs) that I consider definitive versions of their characters. |

Figure-wise, I think the UE line started strong and continued to improve with the addition of the butterfly joints. I love the Shawn, Attitude Era Rock, Bret, and Austin. I'll reserve judgment on Undertaker and Kane until they're in hand (although Kane looks really good). I have HHH and Warrior, which are both good but not incredible to me. I'm guessing their newer versions will be improvements.
Lastly, Hollywood Hogan is great. I got him from a friend, and he's a very impressive figure that I would have initially skipped because I have the first Storm nWo figure.
So are they definitive? I think some are, others aren't. Down to preference, as mentioned - for example, The Rock that I want for my collection is the Attitude Era version, so I like that one better than the more modern Rock, even though the modern version is easily the better FIGURE overall, if that makes sense.
More often than not, I prefer them to Elites. Double-jointed elbows should have been around since the start of the line IMO, so I'm glad UE figures implemented that and that we've seen some Elites get them since.

The definitive Hogan is still his DM. Warrior’s WM6 UE will likely be his definitive fig but the Halloween Havoc UE although a great looking fig wouldn’t crack the top 10 of his most iconic looks.

For me personally, no figure with that awful protruding upper chest will be a “definitive” figure of mine. I’ll buy certain ultimates of guys I like but I’d much rather have them in elite form.

Personally the macho is one I wish was done in an earlier ring attire, even re doing the defining moments one with true effects and the cape and title. But if it wasn’t done, we probably wouldn’t have gotten the awesome early buy bonus on the arena |
