I got a shipping update on my Piper pre-order yesterday. It hasn't shipped yet but I now have a delivery date of February 2.

Not sure what Walmart Canada is doing but they've put the entire Hollywood line on clearance online even though they only ever had The Rock available. Was hoping to get a Piper at retail or online, guess not. |

Not sure what Walmart Canada is doing but they've put the entire Hollywood line on clearance online even though they only ever had The Rock available. Was hoping to get a Piper at retail or online, guess not. Because they for some reason thought rock and Cena would sell like hot cakes, and Piper would warm. Turns out no one gives a flying .... about Rock and Cena no more. As evident of the sea of rock'cenas. Don't even get me started on the poor choice of all the Hollywood line. Fast and furious? Really? No offense to the fast and furious fans, but the movie should have ended 10 years ago. Some basic looking figures and slap a license on it and call it a day? Why not rip? Zeus? Thunderlips? Jesse ventura in predator? Kevin Nash as super shredder? I'm sorry did those license cost too much mattel? Why not Kane in see no evil? Wwe owns that movie HELLO. Piper was the only good choice in the line. I say that as i preordered andre as Bigfoot for fomo. FIGHT ME. Sorry for the rant and language. Had a bad day at work, and getting increasingly frustrated with this company for boneheaded decisions. |

The problem with Rock and Cena is they look terrible, come with no accessories( Piper too) and the actual choice of attire sucks. I've said this before that they both should have been decked out like G.I Joe's. Slapping a head on a generic body is bland and boring.

The Rock in a sarong from Hobbs and Shaw was the worst FF attire they couldve done. They shouldve made him with a goatee and couldve reused a Shield vest/legs mold  |

Steve answered one of my question about this -- said Mattel knows demand for Piper, but issues such as limited shelf space at Walmarts and retailer preference led to the Cena/Rock mismatch compared to Piper

Yeah, I think they assumed this would be appealing to wrestling fans foremost without recognizing just how much of a cult classic They Live is.
I don't know what would've helped the Cena/Rock sales here. If you're a Fast and the Furious fan, are you really just going to buy them when you know there's no Jason Statham or Vin Diesel available to make? And if you're a Rock or Cena fan, these are inessential. I get why Mattel would take the swing, but weirdly it's probably going to be that fringe weirdness like John Nada or Bigfoot Andre has much higher demand than figures from the billion-dollar action franchise.

This series was done to please the retailer, not the collector. Walmart probably got super excited when they saw The Rock and John Cena in a series.

This series was done to please the retailer, not the collector. Walmart probably got super excited when they saw The Rock and John Cena in a series. While I agree, in Canada Walmart only carried Rock online (clearanced him already) and I've only ever seen two Rocks and two Cena's total. Never got a re-stock. Could just be a Canada issue, despite Mattel having an office here. |

I would have loved a F5 Hobbs. Instead, we got what we got and it was an easy pass. I’ll get the Scorpion King if it’s not too much of a bend backwards, but that’s because the attire is cool. I like the first Mummy movie a lot, but Mummy Returns is ruined by PS2 cgi.
My Piper says arrives 2/2. Not holding my breath. They’ve canceled my TMNT Neca 2-pack, and the MOTU WWE s7 order both in the last two-three weeks. I rarely go to Walmart anymore. So this will be an eBay exclusive if I can’t get my online order.
