I don't mind some roster turnover in order to create spots for new talent. But I think all the freaking out about AEWs roster size is and always has been overblown.
But folks I'd move on from when their deals expire? Jack Evans Marko Stunt Sonny Kiss Kip Sabian Private Party Big Swole
Otherwise I think the roster is pretty well balanced and everyone plays their role as needed.

Not fully knowing the situation, I imagine Punk and Colt haven’t rekindled their friendship. I have to imagine while both are professional, there might be some bad blood there still. So maybe cutting loose Colt when his contract is up could be a possibility? I don’t know, I think it’s very odd that we haven’t heard anything about the two.

I don't mind the idea of moving on from some teams to open up new spots.

For people saying they have too many on their roster (not you at all bud), just go back and enjoy Hardy’s faction taking up like 1/2 of Dynamite every week. Just sit back and enjoy the ride.

The "the roster is too big" argument always kills me. More bodies lets people rest, work less often, and hopefully have longer careers and maybe longer primes. Some of those things, we won't know the true impact until years down the road. But if TK is comfortable on the business side doing it, I don't see why people get up in arms. But there's definitely a balance between having a large roster and still having enough talent turnover to keep things fresh and integrate new opportunities.

even beyond that - you have a promoter with a large budget who has turned profit with a company only a few years old. turning over as many talent pool rocks as possible to reveal any potential breakthrough workers is imperative, ‘bloated’ roster perceptions be damned.

More bodies does help extend careers. HHH is a prime example of a guy working nonstop only real times he had a break was with injuries that’s coming from a wwe outlook but since AEW is newer will take time to see the results.

Just a couple of things I’ve noticed
— They need to stop hiring “legends” to be managers or announcers (unless it makes perfect sense). Way too many of both.
— If you’re a wrestler on the “lower half” of the roster talent and you’re not either a good performer to put the “top half” over and make them look legit or doing something interesting/unique that can be built to in the future (i.e. Max Caster) then management should move on once the contract is expired. They have way too much talent and even though there’s two shows it still feels like there’s not enough time to showcase everyone. The “more bodies allows rest” argument works as long as those other bodies bring something of value to the table. Otherwise you’re just replacing your top half talent with filler.
— Would love to start seeing some talent seperate their acts. Eddie Kingston stands out right now because he’s a genuinely unique character. Some of these other guys just blend in because a lot of it is the same or very similar. Brian Pillman Jr. comes to mind as a guy that’s kinda just there but feels like he should be something more.
Also this may be because there’s such real heat (even more than Eddie) that they’ll never put the two in the same room, but a Cabana/Punk match seems like it would sell itself on paper. Before Punk should inevitably move on to top feuds/title shots/etc… I think they should take a shot at one Cabana/Punk grudge match and put it all out there.

The best thing that AEW has going for them is Sting and Darby Allin. I would rather watch Sunday Night Heat than AEW right now.

Norman Smiley should be a trainer in AEW and teach these young guys how to wrestle.

There's so many possibilities.
Personally, I wanna see Cody beat Hangman for the Championship, which will finally cement his heel turn, Of course this HAS to be a slow burn, Hangman need to hold the title until spring/summer, while Cody plays the arrogant/ignorant face.
Cody drops the title to Darby Allin, so we get that complete feeling from the original Cody vs Darby match that really put Darby in the map.

Darby Allin reminds me of a smaller version of Sting and Jeff Hardy. Norman Smiley should come back to his old home on TNT and win the AEW world title.

Oh I’d definitely take QT Marshall off tv. That dude shouldn’t be in a prominent role on a major wrestling program in 2021. Comes across as some carny on a no named indie in the mid west who thinks he’s some gift to pro wrestling despite hitting his ceiling a decade ago. Anyone that’s worked an indie knows the type.
