Hey guys!
Its getting closer and closer to one of our favorite times of the year. In the 2000s and early 2010s, we had a long stretch there when wrestling fans could pretty well see who was going to win the Royal Rumble months before the event, but this year seems really different.
Realistically, I think Sasha Banks winning the women's Rumble would be a great choice because she has a career that is already so decorated. I think it would be great to add a Rumble win to her accomplishments. She is also a performer who doesn't disappoint when she gets to her big matches. My real want for the Rumble winner has to be Ronda Rousey. I loved her first run and I still would love to see her back.
For the men's Royal Rumble match, I might have to go with Brock Lesnar as my pick. I have heard some rumors about Brock Vs Roman at WrestleMania once again and it seems odd to me that Brock has yet to win a Royal Rumble match since his return. I might also be picking Brock because I can't see anyone else winning right now. There is a big missing aspect to WWE right now where I really can't grasp any stories going long periods of time, and it just doesn't seem like there is a character whose arch is going to lead them to a Rumble victory. Also considering that Brock Vs Roman can be assumed as the SmackDown title match, I don't see a lot of guys on RAW that could win the Royal Rumble. The main event seen on RAW consists of...
Rollins -- can't see him winning the Rumble at all
Edge -- won in 2021 and would be an odd choice to win it again
Bobby -- could work, but seems unlikely to me
Damien Priest -- could be a cool midcard underdog to win, but I don't see him as "ready" for that spot yet
Big E -- I am assuming he will still be WWE Champion at this PPV and lead into WrestleMania with the title
And then we have a nice mix of great talent that isn't really doing anything important or stand out: Kevin Owens, Rey Mysterio, Randy Orton, AJ Styles, Finn Balor...all great talent but all are either taking a break from top programs or sort of floating with no direction.
So, who are your predictions to win the men's and women's Royal Rumble matches?
