So I was watching NXT 2.0 last night and I see Kyle is still tagging with Beau Beverly's son, Von Wagner, wrestling against that tag team that looks like a Great Value version of Dean Ambrose and Luke Harper together. I forget their names, we will just call them, "Two Tall Guys Who Tag."
Wow... Kyle does not look like he belongs in NXT anymore.
I heard rumor that his contract was coming up soon. Is that true?? Is he choosing to not re-sign with the company??
I mean, poor Bobby Fish is just sitting in AEW almost like he's waiting for a partner to show up soon.... so here's hoping.

Yeah, KOR has felt kinda lost since the feud with Adam Cole wrapped up. I feel like this is going to slowly become the fate of a lot of the NXT vets as time goes on. I just hope they have the foresight to, in turn, not completely hot-shot the up and comers who are making waves early like Melo and the Steiner kid. Gotta build them up against the vets while they're there so that when they're not, you've got legitimized guys to slot in.

Who'd have thought he'd be the one to suffer the most from the UE breakup?

I know KOR has a huge following on here but honestly I didnt feel as a singles guy he really fit in previously either. Great tag team guy with Fish, but much like Fish his singles matches bored me painfully.
He didnt feel like a guy that could carry a brand in the previous NXT, and now feels like its too late to put the NXT title on him since they’re pushing forward with newer guys. I’d be surprised if he’s one of the names on the next released list. Even if his contract is coming up, I doubt Ole’ Vinny wants to see another Adam Cole situation play out where one of his guys could show up on the competition a couple of days later.

I've heard Gargano's contract expires Dec. 3rd, and I think I've heard KoR is around a similar time, like December/January, but I'm not entirely certain. Gargano's is also just a rumour until it happens as well so y'know.
Yeah, he just doesn't fit in with the new version at all. I think he's a phenomenal wrestler, and could be a very big player in AEW or NJPW or even Impact if he wanted to go that route, but I don't see him accomplishing anything past what he already has in WWE at this point.

I think he’d work better in NJPW than AEW, dude can just wrestle really really well

Who'd have thought he'd be the one to suffer the most from the UE breakup? lol right? Gotta admit that Bobby Fish being the second most interesting member post UE is quite the M. Night Shyamalan plot twist.

He won’t stay. Not a chance. I honestly don’t know what he does, he goes to AEW and he is right back into the background in a tag team reforming Redragon. This will be the 2nd time he is on his way to a single push and ends up losing that momentum.

Sadly singles star Kyle isn’t looking likely anywhere.

I have to agree with the sentiment of this post but to me. It really sucks though because I'm not a huge fan of Kyle O'Reilly's (not in any negative way I think he's good but he's not some guy I'm a huge fan of) but the UE breakup was probably the best way he could find his way as a singles guy and NXT completely rebranded as that storyline wrapped up.
Obviously AEW is an option but at this point more people going to AEW isn't appealing to me. I thought their roster was bloated months ago and with the fall of ROH and everything with WWE's releases going on, it doesn't seem like the talent influx is going to stop anytime soon and he'd end up rehashing Undisputed Era or ReDragon again instead of blooming into a solidified singles star.

Kyle should have been brought up to Smackdown instead of Ridge Holland, could have turned him heel, paired him with Sheamus and made things interesting

NXT still need wrestlers like him to help less experienced talent.

I think we can give him a few more years with national exposure and he'll be in the Danielson/Regal/Benoit tier of being one of the greatest technicians of all-time. He's one of those guys that I've never seen a bad match from. With that being said, NXT won't be the place for him. I have no doubt he is on his way out. O'Reilly is one of the guys who wants to do things on his own terms and he just is not destined for a great run in this current incarnation of NXT or WWE. Seeing O'Reilly in AEW would be really incredible. I have goosebumps thinking about Cole, Fish and O'Reilly Vs Kenny and the Bucks. Not to mention all of the insane singles matches he could have with the likes of just about anyone on the roster.

If he’s to stick around in WWE, he needs to find a personality other than Bland White Workrate Guy #57824. And that awful hipster gimmick he is/was doing after Undisputed Era is not the one. He doesn’t add anything that you can’t already get from Pete Dunne, Cesaro, Gargano, Balor, Ciampa etc. He’s got a lot of work to do if he wants to become a star.
In AEW, he can manage without a personality and coast along as he is in tag teams or factions, but he’s way back in the queue of bland white guys to ever get to the front even of that league.

Kyle had great matches with Balor and Adam Cole, but I thought he'd kick on after the Cole feud and really he has got lost in the shuffle of the "new" NXT.

Exactly Gargano O Reilly derserve better. then wasting the last of their prime putting over green as goose crap. Rookies who couldn’t spell the word wrestling just because they played football or were a bodybuilder.
