Diesel, himself, would be a good UE. They’re not gonna do Diesel for a bit because of the Creations set, maybe they’d do a Nash tho
I don't get why the arena set should stop Diesel from being released more. That set isn't available to buy anymore (which I find silly, considering it's not due for release for another year or so) so even if you wanted it now, you can't get it. And anyone who already has it, surely wouldn't particularly care about Diesel/Savage/Doink figures appearing as they already have theirs on the way, anyway?

Pretty much. What else can you do, I suppose. Swap it from black/grey or change the writing to Big Daddy Cool/Diesel depending on what variation they reckon works.
I don't think I'd buy that set, as it's got a lot of stuff i wouldn't want (Doink + Diesel are all I'd want, really) but I still think the way they've operated the pre-funding and no one else can buy it, is a bit silly. Not sure who that benefits (other than scalpers).

Pretty sure that’s how all the crowdfunded projects like this work.
They specifically said these wouldn’t be released elsewhere (we won’t see a Doink in the main line). The exclusivity of it is part of how they’re able to convince ppl to back it.

If they were just going to release these figures elsewhere then what would be the point of backing the set in the first place? People would care because then they either spent money on extra stuff they didn't want or they would lose out knowing these are limited figures only available here. |

I highly doubt many people would even cared for the other stuff if they knew they could wait and buy just the figures without dropping hundreds of dollars. |

I get that it’s not for everyone, but the success Hasbro (among others) has had with crowdfunding can’t go ignored. The sales model is for the company to offer limited edition items to A. the niche market of collectors and B. test the interest of said items beyond the minority, as the backing goals are usually well below retail manufacturing but higher than what is expected. The main item is revealed at first, and then stretch goals are added as a way to tempt others to pledge. In other words, it’s a way to add something new and different without having to take money from the budget of another area to do it. FOMO plays a huge factor, but that’s to be expected. |
