That's awful. Also, while I have seen a section that empty, I have never before seen a section (here) that was 7 women and one guy. Why can't the women rot where I am? They're always the first thing to go around here. Part of the reason I stopped bothering with Walmart. I feel the same way, no WWE women's figures stick around in any form in my area either. My Walmarts haven't restocked anything but AEW in going on three weeks. Tons of basic Rollins but no Becky, elite 86 Miz but no Carmella, even elite 88 Nia went faster than anyone else in the set.

The state of WWE figures is pretty rough right now. They overestimated the demand for Drew McIntyre, those UEs of Cena/Rock are a little too plentiful for post-Christmas, and Walmart got FLOODED with that E87 (Otis set) wave of Elites and the leftovers of E85 (the FFH Bray set) a few months ago. Even though I don't feel that these line-ups were very engaging, WWE does Mattel no favors by releasing half the damn roster and being inept at making marketable stars, so it's a little from column A and a little from column B in that regard. At least the next UE wave to hit stores is going to sell crazy good (Taker/Kane) and the newer blue box Elite waves are much more appealing. It'll get better soon.
The plight of Star Wars Black collectors, though...Hasbro's solution seems to be just under-produce everything so the shelves are bare. They put out one last mainline set last year (the one with wanderer Boba Fett from S2 of The Mandolorian), but I've yet to see a scrap from it. Then they suddenly announce an entire Christmas-themed series in mid-December that I'm not even sure ever hit stores for most folks. They did a great job on them, but it's like...you can't even get the stuff people want in stores, and now there's an entire wave of seasonal items that may have missed the very season they're supposed to represent! Supply chains have been really screwy thanks to complications from the pandemic, but I feel like Hasbro is falling behind Mattel in that regard. Not sure what is going on. The Power Ranger Lightning Collection line has been dire, too. We get like 3 sets a year if we're lucky, and then they produce several of these strange TMNT-MMPR hybrid 2-packs and stealth drop a Pudgy Pig figure at Target (which never had a formal announcement outside of that lunch box exclusive). They did an EXCELLENT job on it, by the way. I just feel like the left hand doesn't always know what the right hand is doing over there.
Anyway, long story short, if there's something you *really* want, it's best to bite the bullet and just pay the premium and get it online somewhere. These days there's no guarantee anything will ever hit stores in a high enough quantity to secure a purchase.

Great post -- I agree with everything you've said. And I have not seen a Star Wars Black Series besides the same peg warmer or two in more than a year...

I agree with all of this. Very much so. I do hope, though, that things get better for the WWE Mattel figures soon though. Some of the early 2022 sets are already really good. I hope they can pick up the slack that last year left behind. (It's only been 4 hours I feel weird saying that.)
As for Black Series, I often visit my walmart for months at a time thinking they have discontinued the line there, only to randomly find a single figure on one trip. Then, it disappears again and there isn't one for another 4 months. The only black series figures I have ever seen more than one of are Grogu and Jar Jar Binks. Other than that? They simply don't exist.

Eh, I don't think the WWE retail situation is that bad, and as always regional stock differs. One of my local WMs is still clogged with 85 leftovers, but it's never stocked an Elite wave after that, as far as I've seen (if it has, it sold through quickly). The other thing it's clogged with is the Hollywood wave. I think that was the real overestimation of demand; Drew's 89 Elite seems to be doing its value pretty well on Ringside. I'd imagine actually including the accessories people were waiting for made a difference. Although Mattel definitely has a habit in this line of over-correcting when a guy gets hot. Drew had gone awhile since his previous Elite by the time he won the Rumble, so I get why they'd want to push stuff out there quickly for him. They've done the same before with guys like AJ, and I'm sure they'll end up doing it with Lashley and Big E.
I think New Year resets will probably do a lot here, as they usually do.

I had a dream where I was at a Walmart that had a bunch of WrestleMania 38 elites. As well as a bunch of new Ultimate Editions.. don’t know what they were exactly, but I don’t think they were ones that actually exist lol. Unfortunately, real stores don’t look like it did in my dream.

Unfortunately, real stores don’t look like it did in my dream. I had a dream once that I was in a Walmart and it had a crap ton of some HBK elite that doesn’t exist lol I have figure dreams a lot. I keep dreaming that I wander into out of the way stores and find entire displays of nothing but brand new women's elites. They have Chynas, they have Lunas. All the ECW Originals women. Ivory, Molly, Tori, Bertha, Medusa. They even have Sherri and Liz figures as far as the eye can see. So dang many Women's Legends Elites. Except, every time I start putting them in a basket or cart, they begin to shrink, until they end up no bigger than the Nanometal figures.
I have no clue why figures in my dreams keep shrinking but, oddly enough, cars do the same thing which is great when you're trying to drive them...
