Hey guys,
I check the Ringside Damaged Packaging section at least twice a day to see the items they add. I love getting a really good deal on some of the random elites or Unrivaled I am missing. But, it seems that the deal on these is over for now.
Some figures were dirt cheap in this section, and this is weeks removed from the last Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales. I've been checking the section over the last week or so and I have notices some insane price hikes for these:
Chyna/Triple H Elite 2-Pack -- was under $20 just last week and now is $38.99
Bret/Goldberg Elite 2-Pack -- was under $20 last week and now is $46.99
E80 Bayley -- Was in the $8 range and now is $19.99
E81 Street Profits -- Were $10.99 each and are now $18.99 and $21.99
E81 Mae Young -- I believe this was $3.99 but may have been somewhere closer to $7, and is now $19.99!!
E79 Io Shirai -- $3.99 and is now $16.99!
UE Fiend - $19.99 and now is $33.99
E82 Chase Keith Lee -- $8.99 and now $23.99!!
WM37 Elite Chyna -- $5.99 now $18.99!!
E87 Braun, Otis, and Candice -- were all extremely on sale and now are $17-$21!
Unrivaled 1B Cody -- $8.99 now $20.99
Unrivaled 1B Young Bucks -- $8.99 each now $20.99 each
These are just the ones that jump out to me. I was so shocked to see some of these price jumps. These are figures that also moved really slow on other online retailers and in store but are now being asked for really premium pricing -- for damaged packaging!
I wonder what gives. If this is how the damaged packaging section of Ringside is gonna look now, I'm not even going to bother checking on it. I used to get good deals but these prices are insane.

I would imagine it's a mix of the New Year's Sale ending and prices going up as stock diminishes.

Couple reasons. The sales through November and December likely greatly diminished their supply. Typically when thereβs only a handful of items left RSC will increase the price. Also, itβs not the holiday season anymore so these constant sales are no longer happening and prices are going back to normal. This is why you shouldnβt sleep on a deal.

That Io pissed me off. Bought one for $4.99 for a custom and it broke. By the time my issues with RSC were settled the price jumped to $16.99. Looks like I'm just going to glue the one I had

On the other side I picked up 2 RVDs for $28.99 and it dropped to $24.99 now $25.99

On the other side I picked up 2 RVDs for $28.99 and it dropped to $24.99 now $25.99 wack I ordered Bossman and Reed from E90 for like $58-$60 for both then like the next week or so they went down to like $20-$23 each or something like that. Consequence of not waiting I guess. |

Generally, how damaged are the boxes? Anytime I've ever bought a damaged packaging figure, it's been barely perceptible. AEW Mox was a small tear in the AEW logo on top for example. Not saying that it's always the case, but it seems like the damage is only stuff that would make a difference to serious hardcore MOC collectors (not that there's anything wrong with that). |

I remember getting a r3 tajiri damaged package from ringside for 3$, when I got it I couldnt even find the damage. lol

Generally, how damaged are the boxes? I've bought maybe 12 figures from this section and each time the damage has been basically nothing. A frayed corner or a folded peg hanger. |

Fine on a shelf but Iβd be a little tight if I was a pristine MOC guy
Usually I collect loose so damaged box is fine for me
I have 4 damaged box figures coming soon whenever they get shipped out

Interesting thing of note for the Damaged Packaging figures.
Over the BF/CM weekend(s) I bought two of the Damaged Packaging E88 Trishs. Two separate orders for different prices (due to them being in two different sales) but both were listed as the Black/Pink one.
One was indeed the Black/Pink one but the other was a Damaged Packaging chase figure. I didn't know they did that. I was a bit let down because I wanted a second black and pink to try and customize (I've already customizes the first into a Jacqueline) but now I've got the chase instead. I mean, I can make it work. I'll just have the Canadian Attire rather than the standard one.
Still a bit surprised though.
ETA: Oh, and for the record, the first of the Damaged Trish figures was *mangled*. Utterly destroyed. This thing was barely holding together. I don't know how the heck the figure was intact, the packaging looked like someone did a stomp routine on it. The chase one, however, only has a tiny scuff mark.

Generally, how damaged are the boxes? There are exceptions but typically theyβre just little dings most people would barely notice but enough for MOC collectors to throw a fit over. |

Just a lil update, I bought 2 RVD, 2 Sting
RVD 1 - torn cardboard on bottom and front side caved in a little
RVD 2 - back caved in
Sting 1 - AEW logo wrap around was cut and hanging
Sting 2 - no visible damage, maybe the peg hanger was a little bent
I put RVD and Sting 2s on MOC display. RVD is on a tack on the wall so the back being caved wonβt matter. Sting is in a defender case so itβs fine too
Pretty happy with the purchase

I think the damaged package pricing fluctuates based on the price of the mint versions, and their holiday sales ended recently.
