I'm not a fan of changing packaging, as I like my boxed stuff to look consistent;
As someone else pointed out, the JAKKS Classics kept the packaging the same through the whole series and it looks great when displayed.....
If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

How did they ever produce boxes that large is beyond me. Interestingly with the plastic hook up, the Ultimate Edition boxes are exactly the same size. I think people perceive these to be a lot bigger than they are.

I'd pick what ever is cheapest to produce. That way Mattel saves some money on shipping and hopefully invests that back into the figures themselves. Spot on. I'm an opener so the package is irrelevant
