Was it ever mentioned or used in wcw? Was it kayfabe? If I remember correctly he did get into a motorcycle accident during his wbf days. I'm guessing its legit just not as lethal as the WWF led us to believe.

I think it was....I seem to remember a prominent call featuring it in a high profile match....but I can't be sure π€

Yeah, it was mentioned once (at least) by WCW. After Luger returned, during a Nitro match, he used it and it didn't pin the guy. Schaivione said that move knocked out the WWF champion for 20 minutes, here it gets you a 2-count (or something to that affect). They used it to further the "This is where the big boys play" line. And yes, the WWF made it way more lethal than it actually was, it was just a gimmick he used as his finisher.

The motorcycle wreck was real. Lex almost had his arm amputated at the hospital the night that it happened. Sting was there and heard the doctors talking about they need to do emergency surgery. He contacted James Andrews and Andrews told Sting not to let the doctors do that and get Lex to Birmingham. They got it worked out, James Andrews did his miracle work and Lex was back in under a year. Lex is lucky he survived the accident as it happened near a bunch of trees, and lucky Sting was there to get him the held he needed. It wasn't as lethal as WWF made it out to be. I personally thought it was cool from a heel tactic. As far as WCW, it was mentioned a few times. I remember Bobby mentioning a few times along with Tony as MKSavage mentioned above. More love for Lex!

Looking back it would have been a great way for him to have beaten Hogan for the WCW Title during the NWO run only for them to reverse the decision cause of Luger using the elbow on Hogan.
I know Lex did beat Hogan for that one week WCW Title reign, but still, it would have been cool to see that happen too with the elbow and a reversal.

I always loved how casually vince says Lex hit Yoko with a 6 inch steel plate in the forearm right before he slams him.

Lex definitely used it when he went back to WCW, but by then the forearm was more of a signature move as he was primarily using the Torture Rack as his finisher.
I guess you can go back and see that the "aura" of his bionic forearm seemed to fizzle along with his main event push after WrestleMania X. They originally did a great job protecting that move and if he hit it against anyone it was lights out.
I still remember leading up to Survivor Series 1993, the Foreign Fanatics injured Tatanka. Yokozuna gave him a few Banzai Drops and he was written off with broken ribs or something believable like that. So to even the score, they had Lex take out Pierre from the Quebecers. And how did he do it? He hit him with ONE forearm shot during their match which knocked him out and apparently put him in a coma for several weeks. π¦

As an adult,in hindsight the elbow got ruined by Perfect after their WrestleMania match. He got up a minute or less after he got "k.o." & proceeded to go chase after Lex.
