I rented Survivor Series 1993 from Palmer Video in Linden, NJ at least two dozen times as a kid. Practically wore the tracking down on that tape all by myself. Many Friday nights we would eat at Pizza Hut next door then walk over afterwards to rent some movies or video games. Those weekends were what it was all about growing up as a kid in the early 90s. Even if they regularly involved renting a video game with a cool cover that either A) sucked and you knew it within the first 15 minutes of playing or B) was really hard and you got stuck within the first 15 minutes of playing. Either way, classic memories right there that I'll always appreciate.
Blockbuster was the king of video rental stores, but the one by us wasn't the best when it came to wrestling tapes. They had some of the newer PPV releases from time to time which would be a welcome surprise. The one by my grandma's house in Garwood though had a few hidden gems. It was just hard to convince my parents to let me rent anything from there because they didn't want to have to make the drive back to return it in a few days.
Baltic Video on Elizabeth Ave was the spot. When it came to older PPVs and more of the unique Coliseum Video releases, they had the best selection despite being such a small store. It was also the ONLY place that honored the infamous "Free Gift With Rental" promotion they ran back then. We got all sorts of little swag like trading cards/stickers/tattoos. The coolest thing was the Bret Hart door knocker that read "Don't Disturb: Watching Wrestling." Some of the tapes I remember being in my regular rental rotation were Supertape '92, King of the Ring 1993, Smack 'Em Whack 'Em, Bloopers, Bleeps & Bodyslams and Invasion of the Bodyslammers. The one that I definitely rented the most was Monday Night Raw Prime Cuts. When they closed for good, my brother was able to actually buy a few of these tapes which I still have today in the original clamshell. Some even still have the "Special Interests" sticker on them which always makes me laugh.

WWF Champion Hulk Hogans Greatest Matches
There was something to be said as a kid and not having the ability to skip matches easily or see exactly what was on the tape, that I’d just let it play and it seemed like an endless amount of content. I’d always start on the Hogan/ Andre match at WM3 and I’d rarely make it to the end where he wrestles Taker at Tuesday in Texas. It would seem like the tape was going for hours and I’d usually have to shut it off because my parents wanted to watch tv or I’d have to go someplace etc. I enjoyed the hell out of those times though, playing with my wrestlers and watching the VHS tapes.

This was such a fun video to watch and had a lot of great matches and moments on it.
The War to Settle the Score match with Hogan, the segments leading into Wrestlemania, the history of the Snuka feud and matches, the stuff with Dr. D against Andre, the infamous Piper Pit with Frankie Williams. For 90 minutes you get so much greatness in this tape.

Agreed! Something about the clamshells were amazing more so than just the normal box style VHS tape.
I do remember in around in late 1991 I wanna say, the WWF started using really big boxes for their VHS tapes. So they looked like the clamshell ones, but weren't, and I just was not a fan of those boxes. They just seemed unneeded.

So they looked like the clamshell ones, but weren't, and I just was not a fan of those boxes. They just seemed unneeded. I think the bigger boxes was so they could put more imagery on the back of the box. Wrestlemania V had just text while Wrestlemania VI and VIII had various photos on the sides and maybe top and bottom. I thought that made them look cooler. They didn't last long. They were from at least Royal Rumble 90 to Summer Slam 92. I remember one year, I guess 90, going to the video store right down the street and taking the Hasbro Andre, Bossman and Akeem to the store as I rented the Summer Slam 89 tape. I forget them there but luckily when we called them had them for me. I was always taking toys somewhere and losing them (Egon at the park sandbox for example). After around early 93 my video store stopped stocking wrestling videos so had to start going to block buster. They really didn't have a great selection though did have the few PPVs my store didn't have. Another local store seemed to have the best selection of post 93 tapes.
