So with WWE jumping the gun and releasing Hardy before they realized his system was clear of drugs or alcohol, now they seek to have him return along with a 2022 HoF induction. Dirt sheets reporting he declined the offer if there was one but either way the fact that he hasn't relapsed is great news and I wonder if WWE have shot them selves in the foot or not with this one. Obviously he's not as over as be used to be but that's partly on their booking. If they booked him as a main event talent then he would shoot right back up. Now world title worthy these days but still a contender. I doubt they are too up in arms about it since it's WWE anybody can be replaced even Reigns if need be. I will say they handled this entire situation poorly. Looks like they ran to shield themselves from poor publicity before checking on one of their homegrown talents who's been with them for countless years. Ended up with bad publicity anyways.
Do you think he will return or go elsewhere? Do you think this was a mistake or good riddance?

I expect he will go elsewhere. That’s how the cycle usually works with Jeff - he’s fine for a while, gets burnt out, hits the bottle and the pills, shows up in no state to perform (or no-shows), gets fired… moves on to somewhere else, and the cycle starts again. He’s been doing it for almost 20 years now. But I don’t know him, maybe this time he really hasn’t fallen off the wagon.

Maybe at a local job where you can be in a bathroom by yourself but not a large corporation like that. possibly drunk or possibly sick, whichever.

I should think WWE will induct Jeff and Matt together (though they shouldn't, they each deserve their own induction).

It was WWE clearly not giving a Doudrop. They’ve literally released like 80% of the roster. It’s sad to say that he was also clean and they didn’t bother to talk things out. Jeff should of gotten a push earlier and I’m sure he probably wasn’t happy. The guy was jobbing or doing roll up pins every week. It sucks because he was supposedly to start a program with Reigns and introduce his willow character. I love Jeff and hope he’s good wherever he decides to go.

I think Jeff had one really good big run left in him. Sadly I think WWE kept passing that up. I am glad we got to see Jeff come back; and we got to see the Hardy Boyz one more time in WWE. And some cool matchups with Orton; Styles; etc. But; Jeff was lost in that shuffle for a really long time. I think Jeff's better off closing out his career in AEW. One more Hardyz run; maybe a heated feud with Punk; some other big name matches; one more title run; and hang up. I am not Jeff Hardy; I just want to see Jeff be happy. Jeff's WWE guy and it's sh*tty to know he most likely will not end his career in WWE. I am sure things will mend themselves and Jeff will be in the Hall of Fame in 10 years. But; I think AEW is just going to be the better avenue for fufillment of one big last run for Jeff. I even think for AJ Styles; it will be the better ending chapter.

Jeff Hardy would so be suited for the NWA or IMPACT Wrestling.
I still say he wasn't drugged out of his mind that weekend and acted that way to get released from the WWE so he could go do his own thing.

I read somewhere that they were afraid of bad press and preferred to release him but now that we know he's clean they still got bad press and someone backstage probably went "we just released JEFF fcking HARDY!!?" and now Big John tries to lure him back. It's a sad story, and it sucks that it's always controversial with Jeff... I just wish him the best and hope he is happy wherever he goes or whatever he does. Dude has been killing himself for 25 years for our entertainment...

I could see him being pretty offended at the fact that they were so sure his results would come back positive, they released him before they even came back. And now they’ve come back negative and the E is going to have to live with the ramifications of their silliness. I’m really glad to read he’s clean, and I personally hope he goes a different direction as far as his future is concerned.

Matt said on his twitch that Jeff was not drunk either, just fed up with the fed and had it. Turned down their offer to come back and get the HoF induction, which we already knew. He was adamant about getting his drug test results back.

He walked out during a match. Still very unprofessional, under the influence or not.

Let him spend a few years in AEW , Impact or NWA and hopefully he can return and get inducted into the HOF as a tag team & singles guy.
I still wanna see this Reigns & Jeff feud one day.

To EVERYONE who threw stones before knowing the full story and hearing of the test results, sincerely 🖕🏻
Good on Jeff for knowing he was cleaning and wanting his results, and screw them from even having the audacity to try to get him to come back for something. Not as if the hall of fame is worth anything anyways.

How exactly did they treat him unprofessionally until he walked out? we're not aware of what led to the discrepancy of him wanting to leave we are aware that the wwe completely mishandled the situation, shamed jeff by doing so, and offered no public apology for it. this is a guy who had worked for the company on and off since 16 years old.

I don’t know that Jeff has that many years left. He’s been struggling to do all the “Jeff” stuff for a while. I’d love to see him mix up his game while he’s out of the big time, similar to how Matt did years ago in TNA. I can understand if they just do a standard Hardys reunion though, especially since Matt has spent the last two years showing he has nothing to offer as a solo act anymore.
