This has to be an inside joke at this point…Why can’t Mattel seem to get Bret’s likeness?! It seems like they abandoned the survivor series elite head, which was a great move…but this new Elite 94 prototype is a complete miss as well. Hopefully they go back and change the forehead…I don’t remember other companies having this much of an issue getting Bret’s likeness down.

No company has ever seemed to nail bret’s likeness but this new head is the worst attempt yet.
Between that and that Warrior being a remco style figure instead of an elite and one of our new legends being Stacey these new reveals have bummed me out lol.

Personally with the glasses on I think Bret looks great from mid forehead down. But the hair sitting so high on his head give’s him about half a forehead too much. And with the glasses off you can see the eyes are too pixelated in this pic. Which is a problem quite often with up close pics of the face printing tech. But the face sculpt is there. If I saw the face as an unpainted sculpt I would know it’s Bret. I think that’s a Miss Hancock version. At least that’s what she’ll be on my shelves if I get her. |

I really didn’t think it could get any worse than the Gene Simmons survivor series head but they’ve outdone themselves! The glasses aren’t even saving this one.
Think it’s time to give Chella or someone else a go.

Like everything, so quick to judge without even having it in hand. Steve already commented saying the shot was from lower down so it was making it appear larger than it really is.

I think the head sculpt is fine, it's how the hair sits on his head, it is too far back. They need to move the hair up more.

I personally really like both figures. Sure the knee pads are wrong on the one but the attires pop and I love me some Intercontinental champ Bret.

I think this probably their best Bret likeness thus far and the forehead ruins it. It just looks too wide and the hair piece literally looks like it’s growing from his forehead. I actually like the sculpt minus my gripes. Sucks because we’re probably not getting anything new in a while.

It’s just so odd that Mattel can absolutely knock out some of the more obscure, one off gimmicks, like Zodiac and Goon likeness wise, then Completely miss on a Huge name like Bret…multiple times. Hopefully this looks better in person, hopefully lol.

I think the best Bret likeness they've done is the RSC exclusive King Of The Ring one... since then, they gradually seem to be getting worse - especially this new one and the Survivor Series one 😬.

Where is this from? Can't an artist just volunteer to help Mattel for free -- and Mattel be humble enough to take it (I know as a huge corporation, they woulnd't -- but I can wish!)

A FTITL Stacy Keibler, an entire RA line, and an amazing UE Shawn Michaels yet you are still "disappointed." I can't imagine what they would need to do to excite/ impress you. |
