Let’s just think for a minute he returns to WWE. What would his faith be in the long term? I can see him returning at Raw after Mania with a huge pop and a feud against Roman. But after his inevitable loss (Breacker will be the one to dethrone Reigns) what will happen to him? I really don’t see him being one of the top guys on either Raw or Smackdown for the next years and I am not sure if he would be fine with a US title feud against Happy Corbin...

In the past few weeks on tv hyped. Brock’s MSG match to be some thing big only for it to be a quick squash with Austin Theory.
Mean while Tony Khan hyped announcements turned out to be. Jay White, Keith Lee and the ROH Purchase.
No wonder why WWE is having problems selling tickets.

This Cody thing is fun, literally it’s got all the dirt sheets saying different things which means no one knows what the hell is going on. Regardless of where he ends up this move made him a bigger deal than he was several months ago.

What if Tony and Cody literally made a plan from the beginning for him to reach out to WWE, start to get a deal going, and then turn the other direction? Working a billion-dollar company, now that’s pretty good. I guess as long as it’s all legal, anything is possible. This definitely does have the dirtsheets going wild.

I love this whole Cody thing because it really highlights the tribalism that exists in wrestling fandoms these days. Cody possibly leaving AEW for WWE has people thinking he was a traitor to some sort of revolution and he betrayed the entirety of AEW.. That crap is hilarious to me because how can you genuinely take it so seriously. I've said it in the past that I feel he's been an awful character for much of his time in AEW so I'm not his biggest fan, though I do think he's a capable wrestler who can be very entertaining. This whole situation is ridiculous lol. It's so funny how as soon as he contemplates going to WWE he becomes public enemy #1 to AEW diehards despite him getting consistently negative reactions when he competed there.
I do think he'll end up going to WWE... there's a crap ton of mystery surrounding everything but I feel like that's probably the destination for him if my assumptions about his aspirations on becoming a bigger star are correct. The Ring Of Honor booker thing is such a weird idea to me too and it really doesn't make much sense. A very likely ending to this story I feel could just be stepping away from the business entirely. He's done a lot and considering his family and everything it would make sense to retire.

I haven't seen that here, on IG, or anywhere. No one liked Cody. Him leaving AEW is a non issue. People are simply perplexed as to why he'd want to go to WWE as he'd be ruined there more than before.

This is just strange. Between this and the Shane McMahon fiasco something doesn't feel quite right. I wouldn't be shocked if these two stories were in some way related. Cody leaving AEW doesn't seem as strange as Shane-O getting fired, but Cody in talks with WWE seems very odd. The timing of both of these things are very interesting. With the whole 'Forbidden Door' concept being mentioned seemingly every week now could AEW and WWE reached some kind of weird agreement? I am not saying that's the case, but I don't think it's as out of the realm of possibility as I would've said it was before the whole Shane McMahon thing. With extremely sluggish WrestleMania ticket sales thus far I could see WWE doing something drastic. ....Or maybe there was just a lot more to the whole Cody/Elite friction thing than we originally thought. One thing is for sure, Cody abandoning AEW for WWE will do absolutely nothing for his popularity. Shane McMahon buys AEW lol.

Now the rumors are it’s back to Cody going to WWE and debuting Monday Night in Jacksonville and challenging Rollins to a match at mania.

The Longer this drags on Cody loses more shine. It will still be a big deal but not as big as a few weeks ago.

Cody showing up to open Raw in Jacksonville only for Rollins to pop up and tell him "I think the place you're looking for is down the street" is the petty negativity this company needs.

Don't think it would be petty. He's Mr AEW. They'd be silly not to capitalise on that.

I think Seth vs Bron would be better, but I am excited at the idea of Cody making me a fan again.
