cultaholic.com/posts/report-cesaro-parts-ways-with-wweWow. Can’t blame him, though. They always underutilized him, but he does need a mouthpiece if he wants to make an impact somewhere else going forward. Glad he did get that big match at WrestleMania Backlash, though. That was nice to see, and I believe a going-away gift of sorts for Bryan Danielson.

I’m a Cesaro fan but that dude was only ever at his best in a tag team. They should have just put the bar back together. He wasn’t going to be the guy in WWE and he won’t be anywhere else. Wish him luck though.

He maybe would have beat Sami for the IC Title if he stayed. It’s good that he lasted 10 years anyways.

I’m surprised by this because he’s been pretty valuable for a while in WWE. For the better part of the last year he’s been in high profile feuds until recently where he’s in Smackdowns midcard. I can’t say I see him doing much elsewhere besides having good matches unless AEW plans on hotshotting him a world title reign because of how “misused” he was by not winning the world title.
Ideally he’d work New Japan or something because that’s something I’m actually interested in seeing and his lack of ability on the mic wouldn’t be as egregious.
I’m not some doofus that thinks WWE misused him because as far as I’m concerned he was treated very well for the 10 years he was there. The Bar is one of the greatest teams of the decade, he had a good spot in the upper midcard putting on great matches, he got some other decent tag reigns with Nakamura and Kidd, and even two big programs recently on Smackdown. On top of that, I think he may have had a good spot on the roster if he remained, maybe winning another midcard title or something or even rehashing something with Sheamus… It’s gonna be difficult to live up to even half of what he accomplished in WWE on a roster as bloated as AEW’s or a show with less prominence like Impact. I wish him the best surely but I fully expect him to be another “huge debut” on AEW in a week that ends up taking a similar role to the one he had in WWE.

I’m torn.
Could Claudio really be a main event player in a wrestling company? Absolutely.
Does he need a mouthpiece? More than likely.
He’s someone I would actually like to see go to AEW. He’s not a “vanilla midget” and fits the mold of what a professional wrestler “should” look like.

I'm a Cesaro fan, but he was at his best in the mid card or tag division. He had a great career and is most certainly a future HOFer.
He lacked the mic skills and character to be a main event guy but that isn't a bad thing. Not everyone needs to be World Champion.

For certain people, the grass is greener on the other side. Cesaro is one of them in my opinion. No matter where he lands he will be just fine and do great things.

That's too bad. I always thought Cesaro would have made a great heel main eventer if given the right opportunity and manager. I thought for sure following WrestleMania 37 he would have at least gotten a run with the Intercontinental Championship.
I'd be very surprised if AEW doesn't bring him in. Granted, I'm not sure how many more wrestlers they can or should bring into the fold at this point. Either way, I look forward to seeing what he does next.

The word underutilized is used a lot in wrestling, but one person that absolutely fits the definition is Cesaro.
The guy was told he needed to connect with audiences and couldn’t rely on his wrestling skills. He went out and got the fans to back him in 2015 and you saw “Cesaro Sections” every week. Audiences, and not just internet fans, were popping for him consistently. And yet he was never given a real shot to prove himself as a singles competitor in the midcard or main event.
Cesaro wasn’t the best talker, yet was given arguably the best manager in modern years as his mouthpiece in Paul Heyman. Yet that was mainly a way to keep Paul on TV to talk up Brock, and never really meant to help Cesaro get over.
Regardless of whether you felt he was main event material or not, Cesaro had everything needed to be a strong singles competitor and it’s a shame his only singles title win in the WWE was the US Title.
I’m rooting for the guy wherever he ends up.

It sucks Cesaro left WWE. I think WWE has tried to make Cesaro into a steady hand in the upper card. The guy is super talented, super strong, but like others have said, he was at his best in a tag team than as a top guy. He's a guy that was missing that one thing to push him to the top. I hope he finds success elsewhere

Happy to see him come out of retirement. And make his grand return to professional wrestling.

I'm on the fence about an AEW run for him right now. I feel like he would be better off running havoc on other places for a year before joining the crowded roster and getting lost in the midcard shuffle

If he is happy then more power to him. I honestly am not sure AEW would sign him and even if they did I don’t know that he would be any higher up the card than he is now.

Sucks to see him go. You never realised he was there for 11 years until you really look back at it. Even without a World Title, and a lengthy Main Event run, he still had a pretty good run & decorated career there. Glad he got a well deserved, good run last year though. The match with Rollins at WrestleMania, and the small feud with Reigns.
Definitely still one of the best, and most talented Wrestler's in the world today. He'll shine wherever he goes next. Would love to see him hit up various promotions, and even NJPW. If he got a World Title there, that would be great too.
But i do see him going to AEW eventually. They should be doing everything to get a guy like him on that roster. Would also love to see a Kings of Wrestling reunion. So many great Tag Team's today that they could put on a clinic with.

Would love to see Cesaro reunite with Chris Hero and reform the Kings of Wrestling. However not in AEW because their roster is too bloated. They could be Impact, MLW or NJPW US! Or be a one off foil for Jurassic Express!!

there has never been a bigger failure by this company than what they did with Cesaro. should have been a MULTI-time world champ and had a number of different/memorable feuds. Should have been right there with guys like Ziggler, Kofi...getting different singles pushes/tag pushes etc
instead he was used as a fall-guy for tag teams, and a glorified jobber 90% of his time in the company.
he signed last year so they gave him a Wrestlemania win and then he got the honor of being destroyed by Roman. Once that was done it was right back to jobbersville where Vince always thought he belonged
Claudio Castagnoli is one of the best pure wrestling talents in the entire world. The WWE could not have dropped a bigger ball than this.
