Went to two stores that the website had listed in stock. They were in the back, but street dated. Sigh. It's not the end of the world of course, but it sure is nicer avoiding the running around and getting the figure on the first trip.

This is basically the same thing as someone ordering a precious Batista off targets website and target sending you a Kane instead and saying since it's an ultimate and they're the same price it's ok. I'm pretty sure all of you complaining about my post would be on the phone with target wanting your money back and if target kept saying no you would want to do something. It works both ways folks your analogy doesn’t make sense. The people doing this are getting exactly what they want. In your scenario, they are paying for one thing and target is sending them something else and not refunding them It does make sense. Because if it's ok for someone to knowingly deprive a retailer from their product then it should be ok for the retailer to do it to you. How does this not make sense to you?

If someone knowingly takes an item that they did not scan but their excuse is that it's a "similar" item then it should be ok for target to do the same to that person. Pretty simple thought process. I don't care about the figure I just have morals and I'm not willing to commit retail theft or be stopped by target for scanning an item and walking out with a different one no matter how similar or close in price they are. And I damn sure wouldn't let someone else do it for me

If I come across an ultimate Batista on the pegs I think I’ll do the undertaker/Batista method.

This place is ridiculous not only with the childish nonsense from adults who knowingly do wrong, but the ones who continue to fight with them are no better

I’m going to grab the figure and a cactus and scan the cactus twice.
Does Target sell cacti?

I hate scalpers too. Sucks knowing I’m gonna have to pay double/triple for this but your either trolling hard or just not understanding. Target put these on the shelf. Then they screwed up their system with an incorrect street date. It’s on Target to make the customer happy- not the other way around. There is no theft or anything happening

I mean 29.99 is 29.99, so its not stealing No but you are screwing up the inventory counts. So that store won’t be getting more because it’ll still show it as in stock.

In this thread we have people getting mad that others are paying the correct price for an item the store put on the shelves. I feel like I’m taking crazy pills. Won’t somebody think of poor target!!!

“Store won’t be getting anymore because it still shows stock”
So why do some of the stores around me keep getting more of Elite 87 when they already have Elite 87?
Y’all just need to give it a rest. The figures are being put out. No one is stealing them. They’re literally paying the exact same price. So what if it’s a different bar code? It’s not the customers fault - consumers go to retail stores to purchase items they want. These items are getting purchased.
This is a Target problem and only a Target problem. Something tells me that these complainers in here wouldn’t say peep if they already had this figure. If you’re complaining and don’t want or care about the figure… gtfo.

My local store showed in stock this morning for the first time, so I went a couple hours after opening and spoke with the girl that works in toys. She’s always been great about looking in the back for me and she has never come up empty-handed. She acknowledged the error on the street date and said she probably would be able to override it if need be. But she could not locate the two figures that were supposedly in stock, which was a first. They were also listed as on hand, which means they are at least off the truck. What potentially happened is someone scanned other Ultimates to bypass the register lock, and so the store’s counts are now inaccurate. Which means that it could be less likely to be reordered in the future. See why this is an issue now? I’m happy that some of y’all are coming up on this figure, but if you’re doing so by shady means, you’re only screwing over other collectors in your area.

what really should be done is if you cant scan it, you should be a responsible adult and speak to customer service or a supervisor. tell them this figure cannot be sold, explain the situation like an educated person and have the store put it away. otherwise, again, what is the endgame? the first person to get an ultimate batista already happened, so you're not getting it first. nobody ing cares that you got it before them these are NOT going to be hard to find

Maybe fix the issue and there won’t be any problems 😂 not our fault, they still got their money so 🤷♂️ Right there shouldn’t have been an issue to fix in the first place. But there is and by people doing that it’s still going to result in the wrong inventory totals. The store will be sent more Kane/Takers or whatever series of UE’s the warehouse has at the time. But any restock of the exclusive Batista won’t happen at those stores, because it’s done electronically and the system will still show them as being fully stocked. Which means they may see those numbers and say the exclusive line is a failure and not order any future UE exclusives from Mattel. Or they’ll (Target) look at the numbers in the system and say those aren’t moving at those stores and the next department reset it’s (UE Exclusive) going to be taken off their polygram. Either way by doing that it’s hurting the future of the UE exclusive line at Target.

Because Elites have the same UPC number. Store exclusives have a different number. I don't think people are stealing them, but nobody needs to bitch when their store doesn't get any new figures for months. I'm an adult that can wait to buy a toy.
