I have always been curious how contracts work with AEW stars. If a wrestler is signed to an AEW contract, can that wrestler take up a toy company with an offer to create a figure of them? I never understood how it works with name and likeness being used when making merchandise. I always thought if a wrestler owns his name and character they would be able to agree to a wrestling figure being made of them that is not official AEW merchandise. Like Boss fight Studio producing Lucha Brother figures. Are AEW stars off limits to other projects or can they agree to a merchandise deal that is not official AEW merchandise?

Who knows. I'm pretty sure WWE stars have their main contract, then they have a merchandise contract. AEW obviously does something. I'd assume similar. ZST said in comments the other day on IG that it's inlikely he'll be able to do another Danhausen since he's in AEW.
