I mainly collect women's division figures with the occasional Flashback. With Elite's going up I just don't know what to do. I want to keep going but the inflation is killing everybody's wallet. I mainly collect Hot Wheels and Matchbox cars, The most I spend for one of those is a premium one at $5ish. I save money by only buying licensed cars.

Tbh I’m stopping for the most part bc even at 20 per elite, it’s a lot
I’m basically AEW only starting now and only a few guys at that
Still a few WWE figures I want but there’s more AEW ones. WWE I still want HBK, RVD, Mick Foley and some RA era stuff. AEW I’m Omega, Darby, OC, Punk and then pick and choose the rest
basically my crapgetting hard narrowed down in terms of overall collecting

I have always only bought 80s and 90s (and I guess a handful of 70s) characters so I already am pretty limited on what I buy. If I bought more than that the price change would have a bigger effect on me.

Toys R Us shutting down and the pandemic hit my love of the hobby with a 1-2 punch.

Your 3rd option is me except for the “going on in the world” part. I’ve been thinking about stopping because all I really do is let them sit on a shelf, and there’s so much coming out that I want which is so much money.
Also thinking of just selling off my current stars and sticking to legends instead.

I was speculating last year how feasible it would be to continue collecting. Made it thru the year but I'm already behind. I still enjoy it but B&M is mostly junk, online is getting more and more infrequent. Constant pressure to stay on top of every outlet or else risk a sellout. Growing into a colder experience.
But hey they're all child's toys, lulz

When you look at the scope of what's available, I really do think we're in a golden age of collecting. The scope (legends, indie darlings, AEW, WWE, smaller companies, Lucha legends) of what is being made is absolutely astounding, and the quality across the board been upped over the last year or two.
And I've never felt so blah about many of my purchases. Few figures truly excite me the way I used to feel even a few years ago. I'm debating whether I need to slow down, part with some figures, or just take a break from collecting. Between difficulty finding figures at retail and space constraints, I'm just not having as much fun as in the past.
I got into collecting figures because after decades as a collectors and dealer in sports cards, I was sick of the constant chase, fomo, and fixation on "value" in the card hobby. And figure collecting is starting to feel the same way for me.

The hobby has become more of chore for me. I buy Elites only.

Only thing I collect are elites and ultimates and even then now I’m only buying a few. The hobby has become somewhat dull for me and considering where I’m currently at in life, I’m focusing on other things. I’m pretty much only interested in WCW guys or flashback figures.

It was getting to be a little too much for me. I have focused on Golden thru Ruthless Agression only now.
Those years were my beginning to peak fandom. I've kept a handful of the PG Era and NXT figures, but I have quit on most of the modern, buying those for easy customs only.

Disappointed there was no 'Ruthless Aggression Only' option...
At this point, i only collect Ruthless Aggression, and Elites/Ultimates from some of my favourites. I'm actually about to sell off the majority of my collection, from when i used to try collect everyone in early Elite sets, then a bunch of random Elite's i bought for a pic fed that never happened.

The only figures I really need are the elite/ultimate macho mans. Of course, when the OMG type first time in the line figures come out then I’ll need those too. …But otherwise it doesn’t matter anymore because there’s not much left I’ll be upset missing out on

Honestly I like looking at photos of the figures more than actual figures themselves. I have like a dozen mattel figures and theyre in a box. Ive kinda grown out of it over the past couple years. Also the price, I dont like them enough to drop 25$ on them, maybe if they were like 15$ or something but I dont feel they are worth the price.
I also dont follow current wwe closely so I dont care too much about most of the characters other than the guys who have been around forever.

I haven’t really found new stuff in stores and with retail being 25$ I can’t justify paying scalper prices of 40+. There hasn’t really been any new guys who haven’t already had figures out either to justify the spending.

For me it is both an escapist hobby and more recently a source of stress. I am a completist collector of women figures but more selective with men, especially Legends. With the impending price increases I am considering focusing only on women figures.

My collection consists of more than 99% of all Championship Title Belts and less than 1% of all figures.

Mattel elites aren’t worth more than $22, and I definitely won’t be paying $40+ from RS. So if they up the price for $15 figures, yeah, I’m out. Will be a super easy choice.

I've cut my collecting right down lately... mainly because I already have multiples of nearly everyone I want and feel I have a great collection as it is, lol. I'm focusing now just on the Ultimate Editions and Retros... plus the odd "must-have" (usually FTITL) Flashback.

It's an escapist hobby for me so I want to continue. I'm getting more of an online buyer as the heading out to target to see what i can find has become tedious and stressful. I collect mostly golden era and new Gen and some attitude era. Price increases have made me far less likely to buy on a whim figures and figures for customizing which has taken away some of the fun. I have a strict list of guys I want based on reveals and I usually stick to it.
