Missed most of the show besides the TNT Title match and the ending or Rosa/Hirsch. Anything worth going back and checking out?

MJF will cost Wardlow next week ... so looks like Sky will have it for at least two weeks, lol.

Sorry but aren't title shots suppose to be earned? You can't just randomly book someone into a World title match.

If someone told me Leyla Hirsch was John Silver's sister I'd believe them. If someone told me Leyla Hirsch was John Silver in a wig, I’d believe them.

So am I supposed to get excited about Jeff Hardy being in AEW? Well it was never going to happen as I have never been a Hardy’s fan. But that debut was a cluster. There was no sense of urgency by Jeff to save his brother. The guy was the last one to go out to the ring to help Matt while stopping a couple of times on the ramp way to do his dance. That should have been done after saving Matt.

Honestly they Jeff situation is weird because his WWE release is still mucky. WWE didn’t release him just to release him. His actions at that house show is suspect and him being asked to go to rehab has been confirmed. He apparently passed a drug test but it’s possible he was under the influence of something he wasn’t tested for. It kind of smells like he did what he did to get free from his contract. Everything May thaw said and done has made it seem like his interest was just getting to work with Jeff again.
It’s all weird.

I like Sky but still disappointed with Sammy losing the title to him. So I guess we getting Sammy/Tay vs PVZ/Sky? Or another member of ATT?
A lot more excited over Swerve joining AEW then Jeff, just not worried about seeing the Hardys as a team.

Two unannounced title matches. Wardlow breaking away from MJF. Jeff Hardy showing up, but not before Darbs and Sting make the save for some reason. Tensions with Hangman/DO and Cole/Bucks/ReDragon. Wasn't the right decision to pull all triggers tonight.

Yeah why did Darby and Sting give a damn about Matt? I know they are feuding with Andrade and the gang, but Matt was just trying to murder Darby days ago.

So my thoughts from Dynamite last night...
- Jericho's new heel group is just the Inner Circle 2.0 with lesser known talent than he had before
- Why did Dante Martin get an AEW Title shot?? That seemed so random for a company that says "wins and losses matter"
- FTR firing Tully Blanchard hopefully means Arn Anderson going heel now that Cody is gone and Arn gets to manage FTR
- Wardlow is a made star now. However, if he loses next week, it will be all for nothing.
- Matt's babyface turn was coming for a while, but last night it seemed overly forced. Jeff being the last one out to save his brother seemed dumb too. He should have been the one to save him first, then have Darby and Sting make an appearance to set up a group vs. group match eventually
- Thunder Rosa has to win next week too, or it will be ridiculous to have them wrestle in a cage, unless Tony plans on debuting someone new yet again to cause Thunder Rosa from winning the AEW Women's Title
- Sammy losing the TNT Title to Scorpio Sky seemed out of no where too. Sammy's TNT Title reigns have been crap. He comes off as a transitional champion with both reigns. Miro had the most dominating reign really with it, and he's been off TV since losing the title, which makes zero sense too!
- So overall, as much as I do like AEW, I also feel like Tony Khan is a child playing with wrestling figures. And every time he gets a new "wrestling figure" he is quick to push them and forget about the rest
Where is Jay Lethal been for example?? Wrestling on YouTube shows?? The guy was the franchise of ROH and he has done absolutely nothing with his time in AEW. Which is why I can see someone like Cesaro not signing with AEW. He'd get lost in the shuffle there too.

This was a good enough show to keep me engaged, but it was probably one of the least-good shows in recent memory. Takeaways:
The Inner Circle was already done, but Jericho set the vest on fire and pissed it out. Jericho traded in a random tandem of mid-carders, made them better until they ran their course, and traded them in for a random tandem of low-carders...who I hope he similarly helps. Of course Hager is there, because what else would he do? Santana and Ortiz are still going to be saddled with Jericho, only now as an opponent. Clearly they aren't next in line..which is odd. If it isn't them it should probably be ReDRagon. I actually weirdly like 2.0. DG still seems not to go with them, but it's feeling less weird the longer it goes on.
I'm all for PRIDE - I live in SF after all, but Hangman's attire, as touching as it is, does not work for him. I think it's sending the wrong impression. Good, but random match. I don't know if Adam Cole should lose a second one to Hangman...but I also don't think that Hangman should lose the belt yet.
Trouble in paradise between Hangman and DO. The Dark Order is still terrible. I am about as big of a Brodie Lee fan as there ever was, but he wouldn't want these guys languishing in a dead end gimmick forever just because he happened to tragically pass away when he was the leader. I'd love to see them turn heel, and for some of them to move on. For example, Anna Jay has no place in that group at this point other than to give her beautiful face extra TV time...which I'm fine with.
Tully is out of FTR? That's kind of a shame, but it was awesome while it lasted. Maybe he's been Ellering'd? Is this it for Pinnacle? They were barely ever together (which admittedly they sort of alluded to in the promos where they looked like a bunch of individuals/teams in a group compared with the Inner Circle family dynamic.)
Is Regal dying? Seriously that was a lot of talk about how he's not long for this world, and just depressed me. Regal is one of my favorites ever, and it was sad to see him talking like that, even if he was being hyperbolic. I enjoyed the Bryan/Mox pairing, and look forward to seeing where it goes.
Wardlow may be well spoken, but that was not a good promo. I'd actually rather have 'Mr. Mayhem' fired up with intensity than speaking like a TA in a community college. I expect Max, Spears, or a mixture of the two to cost Wardlow the TNT title. Wardlow should probably take it, especially in light of subsequent events.
Way too many groups/alliances disintegrating in this episode. HFO was slightly fun at the beginning, but they lost their way a little before Andrade joined the fray. That's just what the HFO needs, a mouthpiece who can't speak English. That was about as much of a Jeff telegraph as anything they could've done. I kind of wish they'd held off another week, stuck with the Darby/Sting misdirect, have Matt cut a pissed off promo on Rampage about how he trusted the HFO, but now he's only surrounding himself with people he knows he can trust.. and challenged them to an 8-man tag with a mystery partner on next week's Dynamite....but it's not like it would've been a surprise anyway.
The womens match was fine. What's with all of these failed challengers getting rematches for titles? Cole, now Rosa? Isn't it the other way around, where if the champion loses they get a re-match? Usually the loser goes to the back of the line, they don't get a cage match after beating the number one (?) contender four days later.
I legit thought that Guevara was injured in that spot. They do a great job of selling the 'injuries'....but on the other hand you have guys laying outside for ten minutes before getting back in, wasting valuable tv time. It's a double-edged sword. This was done to alleviate Sammy of some of the loss....but that doesn't change the fact that he literally just won it back after losing to Cody Rhodes for a week, and now Keegan-Michael Key is the new TNT champion. Wardlow should absolutely take that title....but I can see him not doing so thanks to Max/Spears. Page and Sky have done basically nothing of note since becoming a team, as they've been playing second fiddle to Dan Lambert for much of it.
Paige Van-Zant is hot, but her hubby is a f*cking derelict. That face is too ugly for the radio, let alone television. Clearly she doesn't like pretty boys.
The crowd sucked.
Not nearly enough House of Black on my screen. (actually none).
I still loved the show, still love AEW, but this was a miss.

This show hit a home run for me at least. The Jericho thing was done well, and while having Garcia as a part of a group called the Jericho Appreciation Society seems weird, anything to keep boosting the stock of 2.0 and Garcia is A o.k. in my books. All 3 of those guys are fantastic, and it keeps advancing their stories, so I'm happy to watch it play out. Especially since I think the idea is going to be turning 2.0 away from being a 'comedy' type team and a bit more serious, and while I don't like Hager, he does have the background to be taken as a smashmouth serious guy, and a violent unhinged Jericho embracing the Judas in his mind could all work well. Glad they capped off Dante's singles run this way. He got the shot because he had a hot singles run while Darius was out and worked his way up the rankings. Fun match, and I want a Hangman figure with that outfit, I think it fits him awesome. Holy hell can Wardlow talk. That was the definition of "when you get to the endzone, don't celebrate. Act like you've been there before". I don't need Wardlow screaming into a mic. Calm, controlled Wardlow is faaaaaar more intimidating. He doesn't need to scream. That was a career making promo for a guy that was already over as all hell. Wardlow came across 10x more intimidating than he already was to me after this promo. So excited to keep watching him. Regal's death's door speech seemed weird, but I trust there's a direction for it. I assume it's just pure unscripted Mox violence on a whole new level. Main event was stellar. Sammy/Tay did a great job selling the ribs through the commercial to stall and it was more convincing than normal for the injuries that aren't injuries spots. I popped so hard for Scorpio Sky winning. Even if he does drop it in 1 week to Wardlow (I could see either MJF screwing Wardlow in the match, or Wardlow just annihilating's Scorpio only to have MJF use the clause in Wardlow's contract to take the belt from him) I'm still so happy to see the moment. I'm a huge mark for Scorpio Sky, SCU winning the tag titles as the first champions was huge to me, and I love the men of the year gimmick too. Then Paige came in the ring and signed the contract on Conti's behind. Awesome way to end the show. I could see both angles happening next week. Cuz you don't really want American Top Team dropping the belt right away when the plan is to make Paige a big deal. But the angle of MJF stealing the belt from Wardlow also makes a tooooon of sense. So who knows, either way it'll be fun to watch. This episode felt like a fresh start on some new stories. We've had some stories running for like 3 years now (Inner Circle, Wardlow/MJF, etc), and it was cool to see how they're going to shift going forward. But why, oh why did we fire Tully. I need him on my screen, and FTR was such a good team for him to be managing . Hangman/D.O. tension makes sense. Can't keep the group going forever, and I think the story is less about Hangman and more about the D.O. slowly going their seperate ways. Hopefully we get heel Alex Reynolds and keep face John Silver.
