Not surprised at all after his health issues.
His in ring career is over almost exactly 30 years to the day. Sad news for wrestling.

Love him or hate him guy is a legend of the business and one of the best heels of the past 30 years. Shame he couldn’t end his career how he wanted but glad he’s putting his health above in-ring action.

Poor timing. Should have been saved for after WM.

He is one of my all time favourite wrestlers. He is 100 percent in my top 10. 1999 to 2001 Triple H was on a whole other level. I have actually enjoyed pretty much everything he has done in the WWE.
I have had the pleasure of seeing him wrestle live many times. Going to the majority of the UK ppvs in the late 90s and early 00s he was usually in the main event. Even at house shows he was a performer who always gave 110 percent.
I had a feeling this announcement was coming, but it sucks he never got to have an official retirement match.

One of the absolute bests to do it and a guy that’s given so much to wrestling. Sad to see his end ring career end the way it has, but his health is obviously the priority.

i think he legit has the best heel facial reactions along with flair, could sell someone as a legit major threat.
cactus jack coming out in 98, again in 2000, scotty steiner's debut, his reaction made the moment twice as big.

As expected, but still sad it ended in the way it did.
A guy/character I hated as a kid but my respect for him grew and grew as the years went on.
Would have liked to see him have one more match but his health is paramount.
Enjoy retirement Paul.

The guy could have retired a decade ago and still would have had one of the best careers ever. Just glad his health is in a better place now.

Despite all the politics crap there ain’t no denying that HHH is one of the GOATs. This guy was so entertaining and will always be remembered as a legit top icon.
I wish we would have gotten HHH vs AJ in 2019,2020 or early 2021. That would have been a classic at last years WM but if HHH does somehow wrestle again one day then we’ll get it then hopefully.

His last match was teaming with Shinsuke Nakamura in Japan to beat Samoa Joe and Bobby Roode. Instead of going out on his back, he buried TNA.

Definitely one of the greatest of all time and it's sad to see him not be able to go out on his own terms. Despite that, he had some great final matches and nothing changes the impact he had and continues to have on wrestling.

I'm just happy that its an "enjoy your new lease on life" instead of a "rest in peace" bc that's how close it seems to have been. He's had a helluva career and done it all. Top 10 to ever do it, he wasn't the most technical but he made up for it with emotion, character, facial expressions, mic work and everything in-between. So whether he was with HBK and the others in DX, running rampant over the Smackdown roster as part of Evolution or annoying the hell out of me as the Authority, his absence will be missed.
Thank you HHH.

No surprise.
His career was already over a few months ago. To be honest I didn’t like his last run and thought he should just do a retirement match against Orton. Orton would habe been the perfect last match due to their history. On the other hand most I prefer retirement matches that are not meant to be retirement matches.
Had a hell of a career, met his wife, got 3 girls. What more to achieve? At least for now...

I’m glad he’s gotten his health in order. After watching the interview it sounds like it very easily could’ve gone bad, fast. He’s one of the all-time greats. There was a period where he was my favorite wrestler in the late 90s-Early 2000s. He’s really done it all. I do wonder what’s going to happen with his role, as Vince really wasted no time in undoing all of his work. Either way, I’m just glad he’s looking healthy and likely to live a long, healthy life. That’s all I really ever want for these guys and girls.
