As someone who has zero interest in Retros, idk what y'alls problem is. They look like the same stuff as the Hasbro ones and like all the other cash grab "retros" other companies make. I really think nostalgia is just a helluva drug and no matter what the new ones will never live up to your memories of the originals. It's the details of the body sculpts and attires. Hasbro's are far superior. Mattel's are very bland, with what looks to be very little effort being put into the molds.  That's a perfect example of how different Mattel's Retro line looks next to Hasbros. They just don't fit with the original line they're intended to live alongside, which I'm sure is intentional in some respects, but it just doesn't motivate me to pick them up. I have such nice memories of the Hasbro line and they did such a good job at capturing those personalities for the most part that these just come off as a little soulless to me. The torsos on all three of those Hasbros wouldn't work for anyone other than Warrior whereas the torso on the Mattel Retro looks like it could fit anyone. Again, probably intentional to save on costs, but it doesn't do the product any favors. |

Yeah, to me the torso look generic, maybe that is done so they can fit anyone, but to me, they don't really fit anyone. Soulless is a great description. |

what a mediocre reveal. alot of re-paint/attires and legends re hashes. APA looks meh. at least there finally being released. really have no interest in any of these.
UE Macho again..lol. im glad its the nWo attire but the shirt looks off though.

I'd agree with that except then why did the first 3 figures mirror their RA counterparts right down to the included accessories? Except Brock Lesnar’s RA figure didn’t come with an Undisputed Championship. Rey’s first RA figure didn’t come with a chair (assuming that Elite comes with the chair that’s next to him) We never got an nWo Booker T in the Jakks RA line and RA21 Rob Van Dam didn’t come with an Intercontinental Championship. So really, just the Batista and Shawn Michaels follow the accessories of their Jakks counterparts… which is odd, if true. looks like Steve confirmed that Booker is coming with soft goods white track pants to mimic the RA figure. thats awesome. and i also saw a screenshot of a post he made awhile back saying Bill was taking inspiration from the RA line, and not everything was going to be 100% accurate to the previous releases. I've completely changed my outlook on this line extension now. Still things could be nitpicked but I like what they are doing so far. |

How did we all miss the Steiners hiding behind the Raw stage?  Hell has frozen over, nice to be getting a Scott Steiner, hopefully we get a later version of big poppa pump too at some point |

If anyone is present at Axxess in person:
Can I please ask you to check the Retros display and see if you can see any details on the back of the Hart Foundation figures? I'm interested in knowing if Mattel have added the 'Hitman' and 'Anvil' details on their tights, or if they've just left them blank?

Probably doesn't need to be explained but this is definitely an April Fools prank. You can clearly see that the Steiners don't blur in the same direction as the rest of the photo, there's no cast shadow or reflections on the floor. The real figures are lit from the left where as the Steiners are lit from the right and the scaffold is heavy top lit with shadows directly below. The Steiners have no cast shadows. Just don't want anyone getting their hopes up too much. I won't say any idiot could see that this was a prank because for a brief moment, I thought "Wow, really? Awesome!" lol.

I'm just wondering if Mattel have painted-on the details on the back of the Hart Foundation gear the figures are in, or if they've left them blank to save money or whatever. They left 'Macho Man' off the green Savage figure in series 9 so I fear they'll do the same here. You can just about see how the back of Bret's tights should look in this photo:  |

Ah, I see. Yeah, I totally get what you mean. That seems like a pretty big thing to skip. The prices for these figures aren't exactly cheap and cheerful, anyway.

These retros are so bad it's unreal. The Superstars series is far superior. It's a shame we probably won't get them in the UK unless we shell out a fortune.

Stopped by Axxess tonight to check out the display. All the new Elites and Ultimates looked great imo! Really nice stuff coming our way. I snapped a few pics, but I'm not the most literate when it comes to hosting sites, etc. So I'm open to suggestions. But I have a few extra pics of Sherri's rear, New Gen entrance and figs, etc. Will be glad to share them.
