No absolutely not, we only need the 1 defining ultimate edition that's really all the Shawn's I need, I will get his retirement figure but the rest deserve to be elite for those that can't afford ultimate editions I mean thats fine if you only need 1 HBK, but I got 4 shelves of him on display. If you can afford an elite nowadays, you can afford an ultimate as well. And if you cant afford an ultimate, do you really think its a smart idea to buy an elite?

I really want an UE WM12 Shawn... I don't care that it's already had 3 releases (...so had the UE Warrior...) - it's arguably the biggest/most iconic match of his career.

good thing I only get a figure every few months then Okay, well thanks for contributing absolutely nothing. Have a blessed day. He made a valid point, in fairness. Ultimates are more expensive than Elites (which are more expensive than basics, but many people don't even bother with basics, so Elite is the entry-line in terms of price).
Shawn is a popular rassler and making his figures only appear in the most expensive line is not fair on the majority of people, especially those who can't justify the additional expense for what little additional articulation comes with the figures.
EDIT: Just to add my own tuppence.. The Shawn from UE 4 is the defining Shawn figure. I'm glad it's being re-released. Although I've no issue with more HBK in the ultimate line, there's a lot of his outfits that are suited to the Elite line. I'm sure he'll appear again in UE form, as he is a good seller, but i think we've already reached a stage were decent ring gear is hard to find for him, that hasn't already been done. I would welcome the DX RSC Exclusive Elite being re-done in UE form, as it was another well-known attire, but after that it starts to become slim pickings for gear he wore that is really memorable that couldn't easily be thrown into the Elite line. You'd also be more likely to get the Elite versions sooner than later, as UE's don't come out as often.
For me, with the re-released UE4 coming out that I've pre-ordered, i could live without seeing too many more HBKs appear in the Ultimate line. The new fan takeover one is nice, but not better than the UE4 in my opinion, and I reckon most people would be happy with one or the other, and not feel too hard done by if they don't get both.

I can understand what your saying, but at the same time do we want 3-4/5 HBKs spread out through multiple lines (i wouldnt mind it) and get an attire that deserved an ultimate version but got an elite and didnt get entrance gear? I mean I suppose, since they got the tooling for ultimate entrance gear that resembles most of his entrance gear they might be able to slide it in more like the double jointed elbows. But i didnt say HBK should be only ultimates. WM21 to retirement attires should be elites, because they wont require additional clothing because he only had top pieces. The last time he wore tights was 20 years ago, anybody collecting nowadays that like HBK will only get that 1 ultimate and most of his RA stuff since THAT is what most of them grew up with in last 20 years. Us old folk already started collecting years ago that got those HBK elites. Any new collector, is either A: to young to know HBK, or B: to old to start collecting as a hobby. And in those cases (mostly) will buy just 1 of HBK. Imho

We desperately need SummerSlam 2002 HBK, and I'd be fine with it being a regular Elite as long as they did the jeans/boots correctly. It's HBK. He's going to, and should, get plenty of every style of figure from Mattel. In general, I would prefer most 90s versions of him be Ultimate now so we can get everything as close to accurate as possible. IYH DX should be at the very top of the redo list imo. That figure wasn't even close, and it's such a bad@ss attire.

It's been released, but those releases were sub-par. I really want the WMXII attire in my collection as well, but I have 0 interest in any of the already-released versions of it as I think they're pretty awful between weird head sculpts, missing or horribly-done entrance gear, etc.

Only the entrance greats figure had knee pads. Arguably the better figure in that attire, but still a Basic you couldn't really pose. The Mania Elite used the wrong color of gold on the tights and had no entrance gear. They could definitely redo that one as an Ultimate. Especially since they could do the ponytail head from the entrance and a hair down version for the match/post match. It's not my most wanted of him, but I'd have absolutely no problem with an Ultimate release on it. I don't feel we have an incarnation of that attire that's perfect. Which, by default, should make it a good candidate for another release.

So, just to expand my thoughts (which have changed somewhat since I first commented) on this a bit:
I'll preface with, I would buy ANY and ALL 1995-1998 and 2002-2005 tights UE HBKs with full entrance gear. That being said, I don't expect Mattel to flood the UE line with HBKs, and there are a bunch of attires I want in official figure form. Now, there are some that would need the entrance gear and Utimate bells and whistles (Royal Rumble 97, Mania 11, a DX IYH redo, a Mania 12 redo, etc.) for sure. However, there are others like KOTR 97, KOTR 95, One Night Only 97, Good Friends, Better Enemies IYH, Mania 19, Survivor Series 02, and Mind Games 96 to name a few that are highly unlikely to ever get Ultimate edition figures, which I want badly enough that would accept Elites that come with minimal or no entrance gear.

Yes this is what I’ve been thinking. I’d rather have a crap ton of his ultimates over more Hogan’s and Warriors. Looking at what can be done when hbk is made into an ultimate fig it just makes me disappointed to look at his elite 19, wm33 , network Spotlight and RSC DX elite figs. Those figs are all missing something to make them spot on representations of the attires they represent and I’d rather that not be the case from now on.
