Anyone for a swerve with Cody…
How about Bray comes for Seth tonight, devours, yum.
Then Cody actually shows up tomorrow, clad in denim, in the main event and helps Roman Reigns beat Brock Lesnar which can lead into a mini two man power trip for a bit and the eventual one on one showdown between the two at Summerslam. It would be a more productive in my view.

The American Nightmare should wrestle in a Canadian Tuxedo?

People really have a super inflated view on Cody’s superstardom status.

People really have a super inflated view on Cody’s superstardom status. Yeah you’re right, I mean he’s out there now and with all that pyro but it’s just a bit… eh. I can imagine being a 2yr wwe fan and thinking… who is this blonde man 🤣 Suppose Roman can face a mirror at summerslam instead.

And that’s really all he is. You don’t ever wonder why he had to make 10,000 surprise returns and glamorous entrances in AEW? It was the only thing that kept him relatively interesting. But after a while the cat gets out of the bag and “most people” realize that.
Hold on to your “vision” that Cody will be doing anything more than midcarding at best in a month’s time once the nostalgia has worn off. If you’re lucky he won’t be turned back into Stardust by end of year.

Yeah dude I get it. WWE is wank as . Ain’t holding out for anything. But ya know, might as well armchair book something mildly interesting whilst they around wasting everyone’s time.

I never got him. If it wasn't for his last name, he'd probably had been a curtain jerker.

Some salty views in here. He is very much a draw. He is all anyone has been talking about leading up to the event.
As for the excitement dying down after a hyped up return/debut, well yeah that’s always going to happen, it’s the same with anyone/anything after the spectacle wears off. But the criticisms of him being average after initial hype are overplayed. Outside of a bit of dodgy booking in AEW he has been consistently one of the best performers over the last 3-5 years. He is quite clearly one of the best wrestlers around.
He was one of the big reasons I watched AEW and yes it went weird at the end but he had some fantastic matches in his time there. (vs Allin was my favourite). Is he a self promoter? Of course he is, who isn’t in wrestling? you have to be if you want to get anywhere at times.
Im sad it didn’t work out in AEW, I’m disappointed he went back on all of his words/actions since leaving WWE but I’m not going to pretend he isn’t a draw or isn’t a top tier wrestler because he quite clearly is.

As a primarily AEW fan these days I was very disappointed that he left AEW.
After seeing him in AEW and then seeing him at Wrestlemania it’s clear that he didn’t really belong in AEW. He may be a Rhodes, but he’s more gimmick than man now, which is PERFECT for WWE, and exactly what got him booed out of AEW. He’s actually a lot like Hogan in that Cody Rhodes is an expert at promoting Cody Rhodes, although I think it’s slightly early to say that it’s gone COMPLETELY to his head.
Time will tell whether it will work out for him or if it all fizzles out and he’s just seen chasing the 24/7 strap and hissing in Stardust garb. Last night he delivered. I hope he gets what he wants, I hope he gets the title, and I hope he gets what he never really got from AEW - peace of mind.

Cody is OTT. His long entrance, the pyro, his whole look.
He's just not a main event guy.
