Hi all,
just thought i'd put the feelers out and ask a question that's been on my mind - anyone have any friends or family that also collect wrestling figs?
I personally don't and sometimes I think it would be cool if i had friends that also collected and watched/were fans of wrestling. As it stands, none of my friends even watch wrestling so it's one less thing to talk about. They don't really collect anything either. That's one of the reasons why these forums are special to me, it gives me a chance to discuss one of my hobbies at great length with other people, which makes up for the lack of this in real life.
I'd have to go back to my early teens the last time I had friends who were into wrestling. It's the classic "I only watched wrestling when I was a kid, i'm an adult now" as if it's something you grow out of.
This doesn't put me off collecting, quite the opposite. But I'd be interested to know if any of you have friends or family who share the same hobby.

My brother used to collect some WWE figures but doesn't any more. I've got one friend who collects figures but not wrestling. Mainly MOTU and movie figures. That's it.

Not really. One of my friends collects figures - mostly older stuff from semi-obscure lines and some NECA stuff - so we'll go to toy shows and occasionally hit Target together. He'll occasionally see a figure of an older wrestler that interests him, so I've grabbed him a few figures from the legends line.
My wife is happy to hunt for figures if I tell her what to look for, but she's never been a wrestling fan. So this is my main outlet to talk about wrestling and figures.

Growing up all my close cousins collected/played. currently i have 6 close friends or acquaintances that collect wrestling or various other lines. We all check for each other and buy as needed for each other. Its great to have that circle but we still struggle finding stuff.
My wife has always been on board and buys stuff for us too

My best friend collects other stuff with me like NECAs and the Jazzwares Halo figures. He will occasionally get a wrestling figure if it peaks his interest like a UE Hogan. We go hunting IRL together from time to time and even make trips out of it.
My best online friend however also collects wrestling figures and we talk about it all the time. Whenever stuff drops if one of us sees it first we'll send it to one another or if we see something the other wants IRL we'll check to see if the other wants us to grab it and ship it to them. The only thing we disagree on is I'm a MOC guy and he's a loose collector 😂

I don't have any friends. I surround myself with tiny plastic people who all agree with every word I say and are easily bent to my will.
Small momentos of days long gone...a tiny spark in an otherwise dark and desolate world...tiny little accessory ridden, multi handed friends....there on my shelf supporting every I'll fated move I make as I slowly eek my way through life....a small piece of plankton floating ever forward to the sweet release of death....

As far as Mattel’s go? No. My cohost on my PWTorch podcast does have a collection of Hasbro’s and has recently started getting WCW Galoobs. Other than that, no. Never met anyone in real life that collects figures.

none that I know of, except for my online friends
I did befriend a guy I worked with last year and he likes wrestling but I never got the courage to ask him if he collected the figures too lol. probably not though but regardless I don’t work with him anymore

i have one friend that will snap a funko pop for a random desk decoration, but no; none of them 'collect'

Only one.
He was a member here but he passed away in 2018. Not sure if anyone here remembers "Living Legend" Duttanized but I met him on these boards, only to learn that we lived 10 minutes apart. We used to trade and sell figures to each other, and help each other with local sightings. Miss the guy, he was a good one.

2 of my old coworkers from Walmart collected. avalanchefan84 stopped collecting when Jakks lost the license. pjm286 still collects to an extent I think. |
