Be nice if Vince sold the company and Mattel got the green light to any figure they wanted.

Vince ainβt going nowhere If it was 1995 Iβd say youβre right, but itβs 2022 and a lot has changed since then.

Wellβ¦at least we got most iconic Vince looks. Not really. Need War is War denim jacket, AE suit (open jacket, no tie, unbuttoned collar), and NG suit with the collarless buttoned up shirt.

Be nice if Vince sold the company and Mattel got the green light to any figure they wanted. They would still have to have merchandise deals. And honestly even if Mattel could sign talent on their own I donβt see Mattelβs higher ups wanting to sign many talents on their own.

In that case, @ WrestlingFigureNewsNetwork on Instagram may or may not have posted a photo of a new Ultimate Bret Hart test shot. maybe an RSC all pink re-release? I love that attire, but I don't think that is necessary. Bret wore an all pink attire for 3 far more major career highlights than a simple title defence at RR93. So a rerelease of that RSC figure would be a bit of a waste. Wrestlemania 8, 9 or Survivor Series 1995 would be the best choices. I'm gonna guess Survivor Series 95.

Jakks signed whoever they wanted, mattel wants the same guys we all want to be made, if Vince is the hurdle they gotta get across for most of these guys and considering he donβt like most and thatβs the reason they donβt have a merchandise deal, with him out of the way you donβt think the ppl working with mattel wouldnβt try and push those out? Even if they did have to sign them themselves? Thatβs the world we live in, it changes, nothing stays the same, even if mattel doesnβt somebody else may.

I'm not sure where Vince leaving WWE has anything to do with the Legends deals they have or don't have. Maybe a small handful of guys would be more willing to sign a deal if they don't have to deal with Vince? But it would have basically no effect on the guys who get Legends deals. If anything, the next regime to be in charge will have less respect for the old timers and probably cut a lot of people. I'm sure there are some people on Legends deals who don't really warrant the $$ but Vince keeps them on out of courtesy. A lot of guys avoiding WWE deals are also making decent money on their own through things like Pro Wrestling Tees. And also consider how many legends have passed away since the Jakks days -- there's just a lot of guys who WWE isnt' sure who to contact, or whose families don't feel comfortable signing away the rights to their dead relative for whatever reason.

The current arrangement is financially beneficial for Mattel and WWE. Neither side has any incentive to change it, and if they did, it would have been a point of negotiation in the contract that they just renegotiated. Regardless, Vince isn't going anywhere. He holds a vast voting majority, and the way things were structured when they went public basically guarantees that he's in control for life. If there were some really major blowback from advertisers, maybe he takes a less visible role. But at the end of the day he's still pulling the strings. I believe the only way he could be forced to sell was if there were some really egregious violations, the SEC can compel a sale. But there's really nothing indicating that would be possible - if anything the news reports are that he was very intentional in separating WWE funds and his personal payouts for just that reason.

And he/WWE still had to approve a figure Jakks wanted to make. Hell, the first year Mattel had the license I am pretty sure they were the ones who signed Macho and the Von Erichβs. I think the issue is with Bill and Steveβs bosses. They donβt want to spend money on individual contracts when they can just use guys the WWE have signed to a merchandise/Legends deal. Why would Mattel want to spend money signing individual wrestlers to contracts when they can just use guys the WWE signed to contracts?

Wellβ¦at least we got most iconic Vince looks. I still think we need a better suit wearing attitude era mr mcmahon and an ultimate would be great for multiple heads/expressions. Would also like to see durag ecw champ, those crazy neon jumpsuits in the early 90s Prime time Wrestling era and a Raw is War jacket 96 to 97 era Vince.
