Do you guys think Powertown will go directly to the Ultras2 to order as soon as pre orders are done with TNA? Yes. Pending any sudden changes, these should go up shortly after these TNA figures are done. Then, after that, it will be interesting to see what is up next - Ultras 3? TNA 2? Remcos 2? I would be curious to see if the Remcos or TNA are considered successes. Based on the reactions here, I suspect the TNA figures preorder numbers haven't lived up to expectations. I’m curious how the TNA figures will do. If they don’t do so well, will they drop it? Maybe. I think they would do better with early TNA roster. Jarrett, Samoa Joe, AJ Styles, etc.

I know Abyss is with WWE in a backstage role but his figure is probably the one that would interest me most. Not sure which other TNA Legends would do really well…Raven? AMW? Beer Money? Christopher Daniels?

Christopher Daniels? Apparently some of the old TNA deals allowed the company to retain licensing rights beyond the life of the contract (I think a lot of movie licensing is structured this way). That's how they were able to make Micro Brawlers of Abyss and Roode while both were with WWE. I get wanting to focusing marketing on current stars. But you're talking about a very niche wrestling product who has managed to burn a lot of the goodwill they had built recently. Add in the scale choice knocking out a non-trivial portion of the customer base and the price point and I think sales are going to be roooooough.

Just saw that the Matt Cardona and Brian Myers Ultras aren't due in until September. Woof. I guess we're not getting the proper 2nd series of Ultras until well into 2025.

For some reason when I came across the news, I thought that it was their Super7 figures which were said to be coming very soon. It was perplexing but not something that I put more than a second of thought into. The coins are a really cool make good/gift for the fans. Maybe I’m just a mark for currency/trinkets. The very first thing I thought when I saw them though was that they were NFT’s. I didn’t read the release (obviously if I thought they were S7’s) and saw in the comments there were actual coins. That could be something neat for PowerTown to continue. Maybe as a preorder incentive?

I recall something about them selling coins of the first wave of Ultras, but it wasn’t something I ever looked into.

Grace outselling the boys 4 to 1. Shocked (at the ratio) but not shocked (that she's #1), that Rumble appearance and subsequent performance did her a lot of favors. Thanks for sharing that, too!

Not sure if that is really good news for her or disappointing news for the rest of the line. It could be neither. I’m always interested to know how or why things like that happen. She is an amazing talent. Her Rumble appearance felt like such a star-making performance. Outside of that…I know she has a dedicated fanbase. So are those sales attributed to them? Did she market her figure better than the other three guys? Maybe this will spark a friendly rivalry between the group to try and sell more figures. I hope things like this are shared more often as the business/marketing side of things will always be fascinating.

I would love to go to Matty C and see how many Hogan/Funks are left, or Rude/Snake. Let's compare their success, know how many there are left, etc. It's pretty discouraging for the Coliseums to know that Hogan/Funk are still up after over 18 months. Transparency, even the slightest bit like that PT video, goes a long way.

Transparency, even the slightest bit like that PT video, goes a long way. All companies will have reasons to be protective of their information which I get. So pulling back the curtain on things like that means so much more. Steve and Bill do a really good job of revealing what they can/when they can. If Mattel had a more relaxed approach to sharing this information, I’m sure the WWE Mattel team would be open to providing it. Hard to fault Mattel for limiting that. They are massive, have decades of success, and are competing with a rapidly changing market. You also wouldn’t want to upset your partners in the WWE or the individuals who aren’t selling as well. It’s a lot of masters to serve so I commend them for being as open as they are. With the smaller companies they have good reasons to be protective of their information as well. So even with somewhat vague information like “___ sold 4x more” it is still really cool. It is enough of a clue to start looking at what factors and trends might be responsible for those numbers and also a peak at what we might see in the future based on that success. For example: if Grace sold really well, maybe it will push PT to change their lineups to include more women in each series or maybe simply produce them sooner than they had originally planned. Maybe based off of Grace’s success, we will see a special edition come out (Diamond collection?). I do appreciate KWK and the Shadbolts (Epic) for being as open as they are about things when it comes to the process and even the run numbers/sales. I wish Kanik was on the MWFP more or had the opportunity to do the podcast circuit more often as he also does a good job with sharing what information he can.

I hope they keep the general design for the legacy ultras from the TNA line and remove the flaps. Believe it or not some of the talent is still around to sign!
