I'm personally hoping for a Stan Hansen waffle maker. On the majors interview they said bedding, quilt sets and the like My wife tolerates my hobbies to a point. This might be a bridge too far.

You're guaranteed to get laid once your date catches a glimpse of your Gagne vs. Bockwinkel bedsheets.

I'm personally hoping for a Stan Hansen waffle maker. On the majors interview they said bedding, quilt sets and the like Wow. Maybe they should just focus on getting the series one figures out first. I’ve tried to pry information out of them by messaging them on Instagram about pre order dates. No responses.

I’m hoping for $40-$45, but with how things are going these days could see high as $55-$60. Price is going to be the biggest factor to me. I don’t think I could justify $50 per figure, unless maybe they did one series a year. Even then it would be tough.

Especially after the first series when they dip into less popular names of the early 80s. I think they need to be closer to $25-30 to be sustainable beyond a series or 2. I am all in on a couple I’ve seen I first series but if $50+ I’ll end up getting just get a couple guys and tap out rather fast

I'm really hoping for $25-$30 for these. I really want one each of everybody they've shown so far. It will get very expensive if they cost much more than that.

Exactly this - although we don't know how often they will come out. If it is 6 or 12 figures a year - $40-50 each would be easier to sell than 18+ a year. If they are $30 - then yeah, I will get them all. If they are $40, well, then, maybe I don't get Thesz and Gagne. Stan Hansen and Bruiser Brody - definitely. The higher price point may be enough to prevent me from getting Kerry and Magnum too - as I already have the Mattels of those. So thinking about it, maybe I would be more likely to get Thesz and Gagne than I would Magnum and Kerry. Now, if and when they do a David Von Erich, that would be great to go with Kerry and Kevin.

That's pretty much my exact thinking. Hansen and Brody are a must. Thesz and Gagne are most likely a must. I too have the Mattel Kerry (and Kevin) and Magnum, but I feel like I have to get Kerry to go with any other Von Erichs they might do in this collection. You're right, if it's 6 to 12 figures a year, the higher price point would be more manageable. I hope we get some more information soon.

I think they will be double that, easily. I'm hoping not quite that high, but there's no way they're in the $25-30 range. That's basically where mass produced 6/7in scale figures are these days. There's no way a small batch company can hit that price point.

They'll most likely be 39.99 or 49.99. Depending on if the final version is as good as the test, I will buy all of them.

I hope not either as I would love to collect them but honestly I'm expecting the price of series two MWFP Super 7s or just slightly less.

Just curious…how odd/obscure/old would you guys accept? And I mean getting into the early days too etc. What is acceptable? For me it's less about era and more about historical importance/noteriety. For example I have no problem spending a decent amount on guys like Thesz, Gagne, Gorgeous George, etc. They were top names in the business during their time, and I love being able to represent top guys from most of the past 70-80 years in my collection. I don't have any attachment to those guys, but I think it's a major part of wrestling history. But I can't see myself buying guys like the lower card territory guys. Anything before the 90s was before my era, so I don't have any connection there. Some of the names I've seen thrown around just aren't of interest to me at $20, let alone two or three times that price. I do think they're grossly overestimating how much interest there is in AWA, WCCW, 70's Japan looks. They're cool, but for me a lot of the appeal is building out a shelf/era. We have pretty exhaustive rosters from the 90's, or even the 80's, so spending more on a Sabu, Dynamite Kid, etc make sense to fill in that era. The early 80's and before are pretty sparse - a handful of WWF guys, and some that can fit in there like Lawler. I could see myself making a mishmash shelf for those "early era" guys. But I'll never make an AWA or WCCW shelf. I'm sure there are collectors who would love to build out those collections. But I don't think there are enough of those buyers for those deep cuts. The lists they've put out seem to 70's-mid 80's focused, and I just don't think that's where the buyer market is these days. I think the money is more in late territory days-Monday Night Wars.

No doubt they're overexcited...which might be one reason why the Kickstarter might've been a positive. Lou Thesz figures won't be lining the shelves at Target.

You may be right about the market in general, but the 70's and 80's are my bread and butter. I grew up and still live in northwest Wisconsin, and remember sitting in front of the TV every Sunday morning at 11 am to watch the AWA - Verne/Greg Gagne, Nick Bockwinkel, Jerry Blackwell, Sheik Adnan-El-Kaissie, Baron Von Raascke, etc, are all fond memories of mine, and the chance to get some of these in my collection has me very excited. Like you, I would get the Lou Thesz and other older wrestlers for their historical importance. Besides the AWA I would be all about the NWA/Crockett era from the 80s - especially earlier figures of like Tommy Rich, Buzz Sawyer, and the like. I just hope this is a success and even if we only get 5 or 6 waves of this, hopefully that is 30 excellent figures that we would otherwise not see from Mattel/WWE.
