maybe because I didn't really grow up with ECW but I had some previous tapes of it, ECW to me was a way to build new talents while also being a way to rebuild people, I remember as a kid logging onto WWE.com on a Friday or Saturday and it listing Cm Punk as ECW Champion and I was sure to tune in then because at the time Punk was my favorite and had been since his debut, I also was behind Morrison and starting to get behind Miz at the time, also we saw guys like Matt Hardy, Shelton Benjamin and William Regal get rebuilt and actually taken seriously, it also was a place for the new talent my 3 favorite being Kofi, Evan Bourne and Yoshi Tatsu. It wasn't the original ECW but I also feel at times it could be the best of the 3 products of the week, the talent they had was impressive and could put on some good matches, while I definitely agree the beginning sucked with booking matches like Batista vs Big Show and other mistakes it did find its footing I feel.

I enjoyed WWECW, and I was a fan of the original ECW. There were times, it was the best show of the week in WWE programing. The one problem I had with it, was them calling it ECW. It was either WWE trying to get the last bit they could out of the ECW name, or changing the perspective of ECW so much, that fans would stop chanting it. Or you know maybe a little bit of both. I think if they didn't call it ECW, it wouldn't have gotten a lot of the hate it did, but because they did, you had a lot of ECW 'purists' screaming how this wasn't ECW, it was just a cheap knock off.

I wonder how much would have been different if Shane's idea of an internet show exclusive would have changed things, would we have seen more of the og ECW or would it have been the same

Just look at his plan for the December to Dismember Elimination Chamber match. Not saying if Heyman had more of a free reign it would have succeeded any better, but it could have.

Definitely enjoyed WWECW! Made my Tuesday nights a lot of fun! I started watching during the CM Punk/Morrison title change. I remember enjoying Kane as Champ for a bit, watching Jack Swagger debut, Christian return, Shelton Benjamin and Mark Henry get some shine, and Tommy Dreamer winning the title! I watched all the way till the last episode I believe. Would watch it again too, I remember thinking it was pretty good.

I feel like if it had another name and didn’t use the ECW brand, it would be looked upon more fondly.

Yeah I thought it was decent till around 2008 when they really start to gut their roster. Punk was their MVP after he left there was a drop off. Then its last year forget about it. Although Christian's reign was good. Regal & Abraham Washington were other highlights.

As a third brand, it was doomed by the roster. Heyman’s ECW was made up of wayward misfits, and by 2006 they’d mostly spiralled in obscurity for years. The only real stars that came from ECW were RVD, Bubba and D-Von, and the Dudleys had fallen out with WWE by the time of the relaunch. So it was just RVD, Big Show at his unhealthiest, and a bunch of pillheads and wastemen. Sadly, Kurt Angle was just one of those by that time. It was good for weird novelties, like Undertaker, Batista, Khali and Ric Flair turning up in matches in small venues full of mutant smarks.
Once Lashley won the title, it picked up a bit. ECW as a wrestling brand peaked with the crowning of its greatest champion, Vincent Kennedy McMahon. Knowing Vince, the only reason he bankrolled ECW both in the nineties and in 2006-2009 was to humiliate all their “stars” by being so much better than them.
From mid-2007, it settled into being the semi-developmental C-show. It was good for testing potential new stars as brand-carriers (CM Punk, Mark Henry, Jack Swagger), it gave Edge and Jeff’s Jannetties a little championship run, and it introduced new faces to the universe. Sadly most of those new guys were trash.

If you called it anything other than ECW, it was a great show from 2007 till it ended. It was slightly doomed from the start with calling it "ECW" but by the end it was a great show and gave young guys their first outings which helped the main roster tremendously, I thought it was a fun show and I enjoyed the matches it threw up. It was cool to see guys like Christian/Matt Hardy get a big push and show they could be top guys in WWE after living in their partners shadows. I thought it was fun!

Loved it as well. I just never compared it to the real thing, it was more like FCW, OVW, NXT, Sunday Night Heat, anything that's not as major as RAW/Smackdown but still ultimately under the WWF/WWE banner.

I enjoyed it for what it was.
Started a rewatch of 2005 WWE at the start of the pandemic, and I've added WWEECW into the rotation once that relaunched in 2006. Currently post-SummerSlam, and it's VERY CLEARLY the THIRD brand, but a fun show regardless. You could tell they all WANTED it to be bigger than it was, but it felt like it was held back by the ECW legacy.

I loved one night stand but the actual weekly show was hard to watch.

I liked it when it first started. When it honestly tried to be ECW. I remember the nights Big Show and Ric Flair would make special guest appearances, be in the main event. Sandman would come out and cane something every night. The intro of Kelly Kelly. I especially remember the night Flair was there. Him just bleeding everywhere. Exhibit 147 that he is for realz a crazy mother-fu(k3r!!!

It wasn't very good in the beginning, it was terrible at the end, but I really enjoyed the show during that in between time. It was actually my favorite WWE show of the week when it was good.
When I was living in Virginia, I drove the 8 or so hours to Georgia for December to Dismember.
