My Retros lack details so that your CEO can put in a nicer pool at his mistress’ mansion that is then filled with Fiji bottled water bought at a shady gas station so you know there isn’t a bulk discount.

Yeah, that has next to nothing to do with WWE figures FYI.

You ever wonder what their profit margins are on one individual figure when the company PROFITS millions and millions? I’d say they profit $3-$4 per elite.

I can’t speak for retail, but I remember McDonald’s taking 1 of the 2 pieces of cheese off the double cheeseburger, labeling it the Mcdouble and keeping the same price. They made millions off a 15 cent piece of cheese because of how many they sell. And they make about a nickel of profit off every dollar spent. I can only assume is similar for things like action figures.

"Just yesterday, Warner Bros announced a release date for the first of 14 planned movies based on Mattel properties: Barbie. "
I wonder if a WWE movie might be considered? Could be interesting if they decided to go down that route.

They’re one of the two biggest toy companies in the world owning world renowned brands which are 70+ years old and have been a fixture of peoples lives for that time.
You have grandparents who bought barbie for their kids, who grew up and got barbie for their kids, who have grown and got barbie for their kids and it won’t be long before those kids are grown up and buy barbie for their kids
Why is it a surprise?
Toys are evergreen. Kids will always want to play with them. The method of aquiring them might change from retail to online but in another 70 years time kids will still be buying toys one way or another. Even with the advancement of technology you have interactive toys like the amiibo / skylanders etc. You have toys of the biggest games like fortnight and minecraft etc

I've tried to forget that along with the Flintstones one and the one with the surfing penguins (or whatever that was).

WWE's Q1 earnings come out next week. That will probably be far more telling as far as the WWE line is concerned. But the overall trend will probably continue - they've bumped prices up citing various factors, but those bumps were far and away more than the actual increased costs.
It'll be great for Hasbro and Mattel in the short term. I just wonder if/when they'll price themselves out with collectors. I think Hasbro is already trending that way with some of their ML pricing.

I disagree that toys are evergreen -- I guarantee that with the huge technology revolution the past 30 decades, physical toys -- especially action figures with no tech -- do not sell nearly as many units as they used to.

There’s a reason they make sonic the hedgehog, Mario, minecraft, roadblox, fortnight etc toys. Plus the examples of toys which also work interactively. “The global toys and games market size was valued at USD 291.72 billion in 2021 and is anticipated to expand at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 4.7% from 2022 to 2030. The industry is expanding due to various factors, such as parents’ increased interest in green toys, the resurgence of conventional toys”
