It seems that the first few series of AEW have been very hit or miss with the face scans. Some are pretty good, some not so much. Some scans are bad enough for me to pass on the figure until a better version come out. Which face scans are the worst so far, in your opinions? I say Pac, FTR, Riho & maybe Eddie Kingston.

Well we got pac coming in unmatched 7 I hope he has new headscan same with unrivalled 12 FTR

Definitely PAC and FTR, which hopefully are improved with their upcoming figures. While Eddie's scan looks better with the MOC pics we saw, I would still say it needs definite improvement.
I would say Hangman as well, but I think the Unmatched 4 scan is much better than the Unrivaled ones.

Yeah, Bucks could use some new scans. The ones they've used I don't think are bad, except maybe the caveman looking Matt, but updated ones would be nice.

FTR are the main ones - their next figures are looking to be in the Pinnacle attire from the blood + guts match though, which I don't personally want. Not sure if I would pick them up just for a head swap.
PAC could be better, but wasn't that bad when "in hand".
The update gear hangman had a terrible scan/sculpt, especially compared to his first figure. Shame they've not gotten that one right yet. [his next one is in street clothes - so will pass on that also.]

PAC, FTR and The Bucks as most have said are the major ones.
Mox is another one for me. I liked his first scan alright but the one they’ve been using since I’m not a fan of at all.
I think they haven’t quite nailed Hangman yet either.
I think I’d add Christian, Brian Cage and Eddie Kingston to the list. Yes they improved Eddie’s but I think it could still be better.

For me it’s Hangman and Pac. Hangman’s first was too large. And the second just wasn’t good. PAC’s was OK in person, but I think Pac’s whole figure needs to be better. (the torso has huge love handles and the legs are missing the top of the boot articulation)

Overall the AEW faces just come off as having a more washed out paint app than the face printing tech we see on Hasbro or Marvel products. I hope that's something they work on improving. I think this is the first licensed property Jazwares has with actual human likenesses, so I'm ok with dealing with some growing pains.

The Bucks have had good head scans (Matt series 1) but they use the bad ones more often.

Yeah, the paint we're seeing on Mattel WWE and MCU actors in Marvel Legends is pretty subtle and realistic. It's hard to match that without the same resources. Some of the AEW figures have what feels like overly thick paint in comparison, the same way a custom figure sometimes does. I suppose that's expected when their previous experience includes heavily saturated, cartoony characters like in Fortnite, but it's compounded when they get the skin tone wrong. They also have trouble with eyes. (And can we get a Shida with proper eye makeup?)
Riho, PAC, and FTR are the most pressing new scans. I also don't think they've ever had a really great Hangman scan, but he's in no danger of neglect in the line. They'll keep trying until they get it with him.
