Maybe this is a random/dumb question, but are WWE barricades trademarked?? I noticed every other promotion uses guardrails. That and the lightning are never as bright as WWE's.

I find it funny someone just said they dislike the irritating owner of AEW ... when Vince was owner of WWE. And then the dislike of the AEW fans, when WWE fans can be just as dislikeable. But as I said earlier today, wrestling's fan base has two polar opposites ... and never the twain shall meet. Two polar opposites, and then way off in a different universe, the stardom die hards. I love me some stardom wrestling but man, as far as weirdo fans go those hardcores absolutely take the cake.

I'd imagine the railing design is indeed trademarked in some fashion. I can't imagine the lighting would or could be. In that case I think other promotions dislike the look of it. I personally don't care for it. it makes it look to produced and phony. Where in other shows it has more of a boxing/UFC feel.

I like both looks, but I think the WWE barricades look cleaner/modern. I agree that other arenas have that gritty look. For me though, since the end of WCW every other promotion looks similar to TNA arena wise. I don't think any other company has captured that grand look like WCW or WWE arena-wise.

I wonder if Punk’s injury is what is keeping him from being fired? Meaning if they fired him for starting the back stage fight he could turn around and sue them for firing him after he was injured performing for them?

The HD era ended the unique stages and setups. It's great to go back especially in the Monday night wars era when Raw, Smackdown, Nitro and PPV's had its own identity and theme music. Metal or padded barricades I'm not fussed about but the metal ones look alot better when you throw someone into them.

I can't remember one memorable arena or PPV event in the last couple of years besides WM. I remember matches, but can't remember what the stages/arenas looked like. Identity is important imo. I'm assuming a lot of it also has to do with budgeting too. Dude, Monday night wars had some sick arenas that still to this day hold up.

Meaning if they fired him for starting the back stage fight he could turn around and sue them for firing him after he was injured performing for them? I actually thought the same thing, how do you fire someone with an injury like that in a business like this. My feelings on Punk are well documented, but if his injury is keeping him from getting fired I don’t see them just firing him in 8 months. More than likely Schmosby would be scrambling to make things right with the locker room in anticipation for Punk’s potential return from injury (if Punk wants to even return at that point). I have no idea how Punk feels about AEW as a whole now, but he can’t rationally be pissed at Schmosby - who literally rolled out the red carpet and made him the cornerstone of the company, and basically gave him everything he could’ve wanted - for having to discipline him in some way after that display. I’d hope that all parties involved must be able to see their role in embarrassing the company.

Very true some great looking stages which had there own identity during that era.
