Another kickstarter posted for the monster figures…is this just a massive troll account at this point, playing us all?

I’m genuinely confused. Why Kickstarter? He said Frankenstein molds are done or close to done and Nosferatu wasn’t far behind. In fact, the pre-order for that is supposed to close tomorrow…so I’m just confused by the whole point or benefit of Kickstarter.

What a clown

I didn't think NYCC allows people to just sell stuff on the premises without a stand and a traders licence

I didn't think NYCC allows people to just sell stuff on the premises without a stand and a traders licence If it were someone else I would reason that they won’t be at the convention but are selling special items during it. But with Sal it feels unlikely he would have his own booth space by NYCC 2025. He has run his own convention in the past though so maybe he knows better than most how to make that happen. The problem is that he wouldn’t have enough products to sell at this point. Only showing off your prototypes seems pretty wasteful.

and at no point should anyone need to fund a kickstarter. the money he needs could be obtained through a business loan from any bank (unless of course he's got such poor credit rating, that no bank would touch him) which makes it even more worrying for people to invest through crowdfunding schemes like kickstarter
it is not the responsibility of the community to crowdfund these figures - the manufacturer should take out a loan, and produce figures that are good enough for people to want to pay for them, and invest in the line
Rush has already manufactured and released a number of figures now, so it's not even a startup - he should have used the profit from S1 to invest back into S2 and other ventures. but he hasn't, he spent that cash over 2 years ago. so he needs new funds to produce the stuff he's already taken money for, and hasn't produced. which is probably why no bank would touch him either
anyone who uses kickstarter to obtain figures from Rush is literally throwing their money away at this point

In my 20+ years of on line shopping, PayPal has helped me obtain a refund every single time I have been occasionally wronged by a store. If i see their logo, I breath a sigh of relief if its a seller I might otherwise have second thoughts about.

Yeah I basically only use PayPal unless I truly trust the seller or I'm willing to take a hit for something I want. But if PayPal is an option then I'm generally in because like you say, I've had nothing but help from them when needed.

I briefly considered the possibility of ordering Trump….not because I really want a figure of him (rather because I strangely like having wrestling-related celebrities in the crowd in my set up)…and definitely not via a preorder but when / if they are ever in stock.
But then I saw a sculpted Trump head for like £3, so will stick that on a cast or 3d print of a Mattel mean Gene body and I’m pretty sure it’ll end up way better anyway.
