Started listening to the MWFP today where they addressed the whole Rush situation. They handled it fair enough. Harsher than I prefer but everyone is allowed an opinion. What I didn’t care for was D Freedom popping in there tearing into them. I’m not going to call the dude any names but I will say that he didn’t come across very well. I have no beef with him and have enjoyed his work in the past…but this is the second time I can recall now where he has represented the pod somewhat unfavorably. I’m not in a rush to defend Rush; that part of the episode just rubbed me the wrong way.

My biggest problem with this entire situation, and I'm outside looking in, is that this guy deliberately broke the trust of the pre order process. On a macro level, that hurts retailers like Epic and Zombie who are doing good work. I think it hurts Mitch quite a bit more than those other two because of their association and the bumpy start with Godfather. The figures are broken and there is no way to get a refund. There is absolutely no excuse for that behavior. People's money, whether it's $5 or $50, matters to them. You don't get to say "oops, sorry." Rush should be held accountable.

I think the situation is hurting KWK right now, I'm not saying he hasn't hurt himself but it's hard to invest in another new company after the last one burned us.

Rush haven’t actually said sorry. In their statement there was no actual apology

I guess my expectations were built a bit high reading this thread beforehand, but I really didn't think the MajorPod guys or D-Freedom were as hard on Rush as advertised here. 🤷♀️

I think most of their anger was directed at the people online trying to act like they were hating on Rush because they aren't zombie. I don't know how anyone who bought these figures from rush can truly defend them

Most of these companies are peddling overpriced crap rather sluggishly, let's be honest. MWP seem to be making the better figures, with more reasonable prices, though I'm not really into LJN's etc.
Mattel's are more value for money, but not that easy to get hold of, imo, and look absolutely dreadful anyway to me.

TB Toycast have a special episode with an interview with Sal talking about Rush and their plans for the next steps, keeps talking around the real issue (lack of ANY quality control) but sounds like French Angel and Chris Van Vliet figures will be totally different (apparently) but the CVV design is awful, he doesn't address or discuss this, but lets face it - basic design of the CVV figure is dreadful, and he was still plugging it as a great figure. the host tries to massage the issue with "Remember, these are collectables not toys and then goees on to list various other Mattel/Jakks type figures that they've had problems with over the years. Interestingly, Sal's statement is 'This isn't the Shockmaster of a debut, give us a second chance, you won't be disappointed' but frankly, until he delivers some quality figures (not artwork/renders) but actual figures of all of his upcoming lines, then frankly there's no point taking another chance on Rush figures - sadly, still no discussion around refunding the unsatisfied people who were left with crap figures that fell apart, but he's still counting on those punters coming back for more. why would anyone take another chance on a company that made poor quality figures and refused to offer any compensation for those affected? anyway, have a listen, make up your own mind, I just think Sal definitely has some cheek plugging his line without directly addressing the real issue - he let honest buyers down, and refused to make it up to them. but, if you did opt for a French Angel or CVV, maybe you'll get a better figure, which can only be a good thing as neither of those figures that he's shown to date are worth the money he's charged for them in the current state.
even the host makes a point around the 17 minute mark to say collectors are quick to jump on the negativity, and starts to try and put Rush in against the issues with Mattels and Jakks figures - the difference is, if you had a broken Jakks or Mattel figure, you could go get a refund and/or a replacement figure. people with broken Rush figure aren't even being offered a replacement (better quality) figure, let alone a refund. so no, it's NOT the same comparison, Rush put crap figures out, and are still trying to pass it off as acceptable business practice so they deserve to be called out for it. he even blames the "old" factory for all of the issues, despite starting by saying he was working closely with the factory and all of the money went into that factory. so..... if you've invested so much money in a factory that failed at the first hurdle, who in the right mind would take a risk on the next one?
I just find it odd that Sal spent months plugging the existing line as "Great quality figures that you won't be disappointed by!" (hint: yes.... we are!) and he's pushing Rush as going places. Sorry Sal, but I don't see it, I don't believe that non-wrestling figure collectors are going to take a risk on a random company that has multiple videos on YouTube showing the horrendous quality of the debut figures. It comes off more that you're trying to convince yourself that Rush has a place in the non-wrestling figure market.
final point on this - Sal doesn't even use this as an opportunity to reveal what is coming next. the ONLY info he's talking about is French Angel and CVV are coming from the "new" factory so they'll be better figures. No discussion about upcoming lines, no discussion about what comes next or when, just a "The future is bright for us!" type mantra, without giving people any information about what lines are coming. Wasted opportunity right there to rebuild confidence by announcing what's coming down the line, seriously a missed opportunity to make collectors feel like there's something on the horizon that's worth waiting for.

I'm fed up with the weak "they're collectables, not toys," line being peddled out all the bloody time. They're toys, mate. Don't call them "collectables" just because they can't stand up to a bit of a suplex from a 30+ year old Hasbro. They're toys.

He's bitten off more than he can chew, but he can win a lot of people back by taking the spare time he has to try and reach out and appease customers...in MY opinion, anyway. My opinion is worth 57 pence, btw.

Having people's money for well over a year and now he has product in hand but is dragging his feet on shipping. He should be putting in every spare second to get these out to his customers. I don't wanna hear the excuse of having a full time job. He knew going in what this would entail and if he couldn't handle it he shouldn't have done it. It's absolutely absurd that his website orders haven't been fulfilled at this point plus the fact that he won't respond to inquiries makes him look extremely unprofessional and it'll be hard to take him seriously after this debacle. A little communication goes a long way. I think he'll have a very hard time getting repeat customers going forward

He should be using any spare time to reach out to his current customers, not plug any more future endeavours. That's the only way he'll keep any customers, future or current.

I don't understand how he can claim to put in full-time attention to the future plans of Rush, if he's then claiming he's working full-time so can't respond to queries about Rush
either you're working full-time and don't have time to dedicate to Rush (which we all know, and it's very evident that you've never spent much time on any of it!) or you're focused full-time on Rush, and you're actively avoiding any negativity from people who already paid and have been scammed out of their money.

I'm a very forgiving and generally positive person when it comes to retro style figures just because I'm so happy that the Hasbro style returned after all these years and I buy everyone that comes out but this guy Sal and Rush collectibles have lost my business, his terrible figures and terrible response to the issues have pushed me away no matter how good any future figures are.

I listened to the Rush interview with Sal - and think it was a really bad look for him. He was arrogant, not that friendly.
I'm glad his licensing background might lead to him being in retail stores, but I can't imagine that going well. When it doesn't sell through, he's going to be on the hook.
The interview made it seem that his wrestling figures are just a way he can grow the company into something big. I thought of Shark Tank -- when you don't start out focusing on your core business, you are usually in big trouble...

This guy will never have a licensed figure on any store shelf. One year from now he is gone. He will collect money by preorder and run away when he realizes that he can’t handle it. Happened so many times in the 1/6 custom world. If anybody wants to order from this guy again, realize how he treats people who order from his side and order with a reliable supplier such as The Asylum Wrestling Store. Don’t do business with this fraud directly.
Same goes for KWK btw. These guys are toxic. If Mitch from Grapplers & Gimmicks is smart he will distance himself from Rush.

I listened to the major wf pod today and rush collectibles response to Matt and Brian says it all, this guy doesn't care about us or standing behind his product. I thought zombie was rough with customers but this guy takes the cake

I thought zombie was rough with customers but this guy takes the cake I get that he's the owner/operator and wants to protect the brand he's trying to build, but HOW is he protecting anything by literally pissing off the customers he's relied upon to even get figures manufactured in the first place?
it's one thing to be rude in responses like Zombie, but give him credit - Zombie responds to criticism (rightly or wrongly) he's still replying to customers, and he's still open to discussing his product with anyone, even detractors
Sal's just disappeared into a black hole, only communicating with people who are prepared to upsell his goods. sorry to break it to ya Sal, but you are polishing a turd, and everyone else can see it.

Yeah - as I posted above, he seems like a jerk. Hard to see how he stays in business. (It should be hard to see how's he been successful in his career so far given that attitude, but sadly we all know that doesn't always correlate with success).
