So would you guys want em back? Do you think he will be back someday? Personally I’d be down for it but right now in the future 100% but right now AEWs doing fine & Cody is doing down the WWE.
I wouldn’t mind seeing him finally win the AEW World Title if he’s still wrestling in the next 5-10 years. I’ve always thought he deserved a long few reigns as the champ.

Yeah I’m sure one day. I’m sure after/if he achieves his goal of being WWE champ, he will be ready to come back. I’m sure they’d welcome him back too. Doesn’t seem like there is actual bad blood there.

Meh ... was never a fan of him in old WWE, was never a fan in NJPW, was never a fan in AEW, and don't currently watch present WWE so not too sure how he's doing there. So, if he came back it'd do nothing for me. If he stayed away it'd do nothing as well. Don't need a new figure, don't need the heartfelt speeches ... he's just about as bland as you can get.

hell yeah. especially if he becomes WWE champ. Because he still has unfinished business in AEW, and when he returns he will be an even bigger star
Honestly i think thats part of Cody's plan. He wasn't in a great spot in AEW

it would be worth it for the heat from the fans alone

Why would he even want, or need to? Seems he basically used AEW as a stepping stone, to get back to the big time.

He'd have to come in as a heel, because the heat would be nuclear. He could run with the delusional Babyface thing, except I don't think he could handle it lol. But I don't expect him to ever come back. He'll be expecting too high of a price tag to just be a wrestler, and he's not high up enough on the card to warrant it. Even less so three or four years from now when the top of the card is even more filled out.

He’s better suited for WWE. And with the position he’s in and the money he’s supposedly making, I’d be shocked if he ever leaves WWE. But anything can happen

True say but it’d be a big moment for AEW since Cody would return as a much bigger star and why not return to the place that really put him on the map in the last few years? I wouldn’t mind seeing em have one more run in AEW but I also wouldn’t blame em for retiring in WWE.

The only way AEW will let him back in (at least with open arms) is if he actually becomes a bigger star than he already is. Is that likely? No. What Are the chances that Vince is just playing nice with him right now, but in a year Cody will be right back to Stardust territory on the card and never actually get near the championship? High That Vince will get bored with his with his big AEW get and bury him in a few years? High

The thing is AEW fans turned on Cody big time because they saw him as a threat to the newer stars. If he returned and started going over the roster he would become hugely unpopular.
He's fine in WWE.

I don’t think that was the main reason, I think it was mostly that his act became insufferable in aew

Yeah they turned on him because of that terrible "I'm ending racism" promo and subsequently awful feud with the Factory. I never felt "why are they booing him?" needed to be over-analyzed; he came off like a lame dork. It's the same reason the fans booed Britt Baker when AEW first started.

Cody was my least favourite thing about AEW for the longest time, but after a few years on top at WWE, if he just bites the bullet and comes back as a cocky heel that thinks he's above everyone in AEW, I think that could be gold.

Yes. I really don’t see it happening though. Part of me feels like his whole AEW experience was done solely to get back to WWE eventually. I feel like the only reason he didn’t re-sign was because WWE expressed interest, and the only reason he signed the short deal was to play hard ball with Vince while still knowing a deal was likely and used AEW as a fallback in case his gamble didn’t pay off. Cody Rhodes is very much like his father as well as Hulk Hogan, just much more peer friendly than post-1993 Hogan when he basically became the cancer of the business. I’m not knocking Cody for being a shrewd businessman, but I definitely don’t think he’s above backchanneling and corporate subterfuge. If you even look at his character he’s a hybrid of Dusty, Hogan, and Cena. Dude knows what he wants, and he’ll do whatever it takes to get it aside from flat out screwing over his fellow wrestlers (at least presently).
Even if that’s true we made out like bandits by getting this great company that has provided an alternative that matters (unlike TNA ever did). Cody was a HUUUUUGE part of that, and I’ll love him forever for giving us AEW. At the same time, any public statements, any interviews, any promos you can tell that Cody Runnels isn’t in there, it’s Cody Rhodes the company man, and he’s damn good at it. Hell, I’ll go as far as to say there’s nobody in the business better at it than Cody. I bet that’s one of the things that really made Vince notice him and want to make him a superstar. Unless something bad goes down I could easily see Cody as a WWE lifer.

Is it just me or does Cody look like a Joshi wrestler from the 90's? The hair, body, entrance gear
