Everyone has that one boss

No my friend, she's still the boss.

I own my own business work 7 days, no time off. Right now being a boss is tough, you can't overly snap and discipline the staff of inadequate workers and put them in place you have to swallow your pride and vent elsewhere. Knock down a few beers and go back to the same thing the next day. Trying to find replacements is even harder, as no one really takes work seriously, they come down for the position, then you call them to start work, they never show, or answer their phones.

90% of every Sgt or Lieutenant I’ve worked under 😂

My training lieutenant at my first jail was a bouncer became correction officer by kissing ass he went from Officer to Sgt to lieutenant in four years and because the training Sgt had beat 3 sexual harassment allegations but the admin knew he was (he got fired year later) they made this guy the training lieutenant.

Never Under went any DPS training never really knew anything at all and when we went into defensive tactics it was horrible

On top of that we had regular shift lieutenant

She started at the jail in 2004 which you think okay that’s long time, she started as a nurse…

When the jail switched to private medical provider in 2014, she decided she didn’t want to.

So, she became Correction Officer without ever under going the training
Bc she was married to one and was a nurse at a jail it was fine apparently

Then, she became corporal within the first year, in 2016 we decided to end the rank of corporal so all corporals got promoted to Sgt

Well she was so “good” she got promoted to lieutenant without ever being Sgt

She never was certified to use taser or pepper spray or gun or receive any special training but here she was 70 lbs overweight calling the shots and having tools she didn’t know how to use

My first job after graduating high school was working at a sewage treatment plant. My boss was a racist douchebag who was one of the most pathetic human beings I ever encountered. He told me right away "I don't care about your family. Only mine." So when he told us months later his daughter had salmonella poisoning, I said, "I don't care.". Strike one. He'd call us into his office at break time & go on for HOURS about what he would do if he was the coach for the NY Jets. To this day, I can't stand that team just because of that principle. Then he had something devious going on with the town manager. The guilt must have been eating him alive because he started taking multiple days off for "having spells". Plus he was on muscle relaxers that would make him sh*t his pants at work. On more than one occasion you'd hear him yell from his office "Call my wife & tell her I need new pants & underpants." He ended up getting this nervous tic where his arm would twich & he'd stick out his tongue & force his chin to touch his right shoulder. We said it looked like he was trying to eat an invisible ham sandwich on his shoulder. Strike two. He eventually dumped sewage water into a nearby creek instead of diverting ot to a retaining tank. I and another worker told the prosecutor's office about it. We were fired for "not being civil certified". He ended up having his sewage operator's licenses taken away & being fined $200,000. Years later I see his obituary in the newspaper. From what I heard, he took his own life. Good riddance.

That's good. I worked for a lot of managers in retail that would throw people under the bus a lot and have unrealistic expectations based on the amount of time and staff we had. Though, I can't say that at all about the people I work for now but it's not retail.

I see that allot too no wonder why they’re’s so many jobs out there. Allot of people don’t want to deal with the bs. Plus being under paid to do 5 jobs for one person because one they can’t hire anyone or the other workers are somewhere else doing absolutely nothing.

We just got a new store manager at work. This guy is good don't get me wrong but he let the back room become a mess again. When our old store manager was there she assigned us depts to work in. This guy has you all over the place. He has us working in departments that we usually don't cover

I think everyone can relate to Bill Lumbergh from Office Space. I think every company has a boss like him in some capacity. When I worked at the Ford Dealership, there were 2 co-owners, they are brother in laws. I think the ownership % was 60/40. Anyway they had 2 locations, a main location which was huge, and the smaller location where I worked. I worked at both locations I would only go up to the Main Location once in a while to help control the mountain of unfiled repair orders. Basically they had a girl there doing that but she stopped showing up to work to go back to college. But the amount of stacks upon stacks of unfiled repair orders was a freaking nightmare. It took a good 45 minutes just to drive up to the main location from the one I normally worked at. Basically the time it took to drive up there and drive back to the one I worked out ate the time I could get things accomplished. Basically you had to file repair orders by VIN. I enjoyed doing the work. The boss I had at the smaller location was the minority owner and he managed the service dept at the one I worked at. I was mainly maintenance but I did document destruction as well. The minority owner was great to work for. His brother in law who was the Majority owner was clueless to what was going on at the smaller location since he mainly came up to the smaller location once a week to check on things. One time I was at the main location and the Majority owner told me to clean the coffee machine in the waiting area since I was maintenance. I had no clue on how to clean that high tech machine, so I unknowingly cut my fingertip on a grate while trying to clean it. This all could have been prevented if he would have told the maintenance guy who works at the main location to do it. I get that the maintenance guy who works at the main location is busy going to the bank, driving customers home and doing various errors, but don't expect somebody to know how to take apart a coffee machine that is a commercial machine when they had no clue on how to attempt to disassemble and clean it.
Basically the majority owner was clueless on what was going on at the smaller dealership. He also had zero clue to how far back the new car lot went on for. The smaller dealer is located on a weird setup. The smaller dealer is on one property, that barely has room for new cars to display on the lot. Then there is a house located right next to the dealership building that is occupied by an old lady. I think they tried to buy her property from her several times and she rejects their offer. So next to that used to be a popular restaurant. Once that closed down the Ford Dealer bought it and raised the restaurant and turned it into their new car lot. However that parcel of land is several acres it even goes into the woods. Te owners have zero clue to how far back they own the woods. They could totally develop the wooded area to expand their car lot. Then there was the used car lot that was located across the street from the gas station that is next door from the main building. Totally weird setup that can easily be avoided if they would expand the area that they own in the woods.
